  • Publication number: 20100301295
Abstract: A portable barrier (11) comprising a base portion (13) and a barrier portion (15). The base portion (13) is adapted to rest on the ground and the barrier portion (15) is moveable relative to the base portion between a collapsed condition in which it locates against the base portion for compactness and an erected condition in which it extends upwardly from the base portion to perform a barrier function. A connection means (100) is provided for connecting adjacent barriers (11) together to form a barrier assembly (10). The connection means (100) is in the form of a pin connection system comprising spigots (101) on one side of the barrier (11) and corresponding sockets (103) on the other side of the barrier, the arrangement being that the spigots (101) of one barrier engage in the corresponding sockets (103) of an adjacent barrier thereby to provide a connection between the two barriers.

  • Publication number: 20100098075
Abstract: The invention relates, in various aspects, to systems and methods for linking content stored on a computer network with content broadcast over a television network. The system includes a database, a trigger mechanism, a communications interface, and a packet generator. The database stores tokens representative of links to the stored content and delivery information representative of at least a duration for delivering the token. The trigger mechanism indicates an instruction to deliver a token over the television network, generating a signal indicating a respective one of the stored tokens and a time for starting the delivery of the respective token. The communications interface has a channel in communication with a television set top box device for transferring the respective token to the television set top box device. The packet generator generates packets within a stream of television content to be broadcast over the television network.

  • Publication number: 20100069016
Abstract: A method of calculating the noise power in a received signal containing a pilot channel, the method comprising estimating the power of the received signal, estimating the power of the pilot channel and calculating the noise power as a function of the estimated signal and the pilot channel powers. The noise power thus deduced may be used as a parameter of a function defining a channel quality indicator. The invention extends to corresponding apparatus.

  • Publication number: 20100040176
Abstract: A method of steering a channel estimation search window, the method comprising providing a series of raw CIR tap values to span a channel estimation search window containing a sub-window whose contents are intended to be passed for further processing to produce a refined CIR estimate, determining, amongst a plurality of groups of continuous tap values within the window, the group containing the largest amount of signal energy and time-shifting the window as necessary to arrange that the group so determined occupies the sub-window.

  • Publication number: 20100010472
Abstract: There is provided a syringe assembly comprising a first, self contained cylindrical storage means (211) containing a first substance (212) and a second, self contained, cylindrical storage means (213) containing a second substance (214). The second storage means is slidably received by the first storage means and is adapted to pierce a slidable sealing element of the first storage means for mixing of the first and second substances in the first storage means. Axially driving the sealing element of the first storage means effects ejection of the resulting mixed substance from the syringe for delivery to a patient. There is also disclosed a syringe assembly with a safety sheath for covering a needle of the syringe when in an extended position and which is slidable from the extended position to a retracted position to expose the needle for use.

  • Publication number: 20090043560
Abstract: Modeling protocols. A method includes accessing a number of model programs. Each model program includes computer-executable instructions. The computer-executable instructions describe the behavior of at least one of another program, system, or component. Model programs may be disjointed in that they have independent meaning or dependent in that they include at least one of a state variable, action, or precondition that is dependent on another model program to impart meaning to the model program. An output model program is composed by unification including substituting state variables into another of the model programs without executing the model programs. Traces are generated from the output model program. Each of the traces includes a path of labels. The labels describe actions of the output model program from an initial state to an accepting state where a run is allowed to stop. The traces are output to a user.
