Abstract: Accordingly, systems and methods have been developed to monitor, diagnose, and predict the course of COPD and determine what stage of COPD a patient is currently experiencing based, for example, analysis of respiratory sounds and images of sputum. This includes systems and methods that may be performed by the patient in the home in some cases, and some that utilized sensors available on mobile devices including microphones and cameras. The system may also be able to predict COPD exacerbation events and warn caregivers in advance.

Abstract: A system and method for assisting a patient in setting up and using respiratory therapy device is disclosed. The system includes an equipment database storing data relating to respiratory therapy device types and mask types. A device recognition module is operable to identify the type of the respiratory therapy device from an image of the respiratory therapy device captured by a client computing device in comparison with the data relating to the device types. A mask recognition module is operable to identify the type of the mask from an image of the mask captured by the client computing device in comparison with the data relating to the mask types. A media database includes media relating to assistance information relating to mask types and device types. A management server is operable to send media relating to assistance information for the identified type of mask or identified type of device to the client computing device.

Abstract: A system and method for monitoring the health of a patient is disclosed. The system includes a respiratory therapy device having a transmitter and an air control device to provide respiratory therapy to a patient. The respiratory therapy device collects operational data and transmits the collected operational data. A health analysis engine is in communication with the respiratory therapy device. The health analysis engine receives the collected data to determine a health condition of the patient based on the collected data. The respiratory therapy device sends either low or high resolution data to the health analysis engine. The high resolution data is transmitted based on the occurrence of an event detected based on the low resolution data.
