Publication number: 20120079585Abstract: Embodiments of proxy authentication and indirect certificate chaining are described herein. In an implementation, authentication for a client occurs via a proxy service. Proxy service communicates between client and server, and caches security tokens on behalf of the client. In an implementation, trustworthiness of certificate presented to a client to establish trust is determined utilizing a signed data package which incorporates a plurality of known certificates. The presented certificate is verified without utilizing root certificates installed on the client device.Type: ApplicationFiled: December 6, 2011Publication date: March 29, 2012Applicant: MICROSOFT CORPORATIONInventors: Kok Wai Chan, Colin Chow, Trevin M. Chow, Lin Huang, Ryan Hurst, Naresh Jain, Wei Jiang, Yordan I. Rouskov, Pui-Yin Winfred Wong, Ismail Cem Paya, Ryan Hurst

Patent number: 7234158Abstract: Methods and system for routing communication between a client computer and network servers on a data communication network. In response to a request from a web server on the network to authenticate a user of the client computer, an authentication network server directs the client to a user interface network server. The user interface server provides a user interface to the user requesting login information. The authentication server, which is in a different domain than the user interface server, receives and validates the login information. The authentication server further provides a cookie to the client computer if the information retrieved from the user is valid. The cookie has a domain attribute corresponding to the domain of the authentication server.Type: GrantFiled: April 1, 2002Date of Patent: June 19, 2007Assignee: Microsoft CorporationInventors: Wei-Quiang Michael Guo, Wei Jiang, Colin Chow

Patent number: 6784819Abstract: A technique for deskewing digitizer channels in an automatic test system includes applying a waveform of known frequency to the input of each digitizer channel. Each digitizer channel samples the waveform to produce a respective data record. A Discrete Fourier Transform (DFT), or a portion thereof, is then taken for each data record to determine, at minimum, the phase of the waveform. Phase differences across different digitizer channels are converted to time differences, which values are applied to subsequent digitizer measurements to correct for timing skew. Because a large number of samples in a digitizer's data record contribute to the computed phase of the waveform, the effects of timing jitter are substantially eliminated from skew measurements, without the need for repeating measurements and explicitly averaging results.Type: GrantFiled: June 27, 2002Date of Patent: August 31, 2004Assignee: Teradyne, Inc.Inventor: Ka Ho Colin Chow
