  • Publication number: 20190352155
Abstract: The invention provides a scissor jack which includes a threaded ball screw drive shaft with a working end secured to an output connector of a planetary gearbox at the first elbow and extending through a corresponding ball screw nut assembly at a second elbow. An operating shaft is slidably engaged with and locked for rotation of an input connector of the planetary gearbox. A lock mechanism is provided to include a first mating component supported on and for rotation with the operating shaft and a second mating component fixed in relation to a housing of the planetary gearbox. The first and second mating components are provided with cooperating formations that movable into overlapping engagement to lock the operating shaft in relation to the planetary gearbox housing.

  • Patent number: 9338597
Abstract: Methods and systems for communicating alert messages to target communications devices in a target physical location are disclosed. The target devices may not be preconfigured to be discovered or to receive the alert message. Network sources are queried to identify accessible logical locations, which are associated with physical locations in a database. The logical locations include an intelligent network source which, having received the alert message, detects nearby devices in the target physical location. The system prepares and communicates the alert message to the target device. The intelligent network source may be configured to prepare and communicate the alert message without any intermediate system step of formulating a list of recipients. Auto-discovery and message delivery methods employ protocol packet injection, network and access point spoofing, and Bluetooth signaling. Auto-discovery and unconfigured delivery methods can be used to reveal the presence of devices in an area.

  • Patent number: 9215217
Abstract: Methods and systems for communicating messages to target communications devices in a target physical location are disclosed. Network sources are queried for logical locations accessible to the network source. A specification of a physical location associated with each logical location is received. Each logical location specification is stored in a data store in association with the associated physical location specification. A specification of the target physical location is received. Those logical location specifications associated with the target physical location are retrieved from the data store, thereby identifying target logical locations. For each target logical location, at least one of the network sources accessible to that logical location is queried for specifications of communications devices accessible to that logical location, thereby identifying the communications devices in the target physical location.

  • Patent number: 8382068
Abstract: A scissor jack for handling heavy duty work includes four arms hingedly arranged to provide two opposite elbows between a base and a load support, a pair of trunnions, one at each elbow connected by a threaded shaft. One end of the threaded shaft is rotatably engaged in a threaded bush anchored to one elbow on a trunnion to extend beyond the outer corner of the elbow. The jack further includes a movable brace comprising a block slidable on the threaded shaft and carried between a pair of plates which are pivotally secured to the connectors and bent to provide stops for simultaneous location of the arms with spacers on the trunnions to determine the extended position of the jack.

  • Patent number: 8052121
Abstract: The invention involves a scissor jack having four arms hingedly arranged to provide two opposite elbows between a base and a load support. A pair of trunnions at the elbows is connected by a threaded shaft. A movable brace is supported between the arms. The brace strengthens and adds support to the jack assembly. In a preferred embodiment, the brace includes a guide assembly which slidably engages the shaft and connectors pivoted between the guide and each of the four arms. The connectors are extensible socket and rod arrangements. Each connector includes a coil spring located over the rod in the socket. The four springs are compressed on extension of the jack to assist in lifting a load.

  • Publication number: 20090200527
Abstract: The invention involves a scissor jack (1) having four arms (4,5,6,7) hingedly arranged to provide two opposite elbows (8) between a base (2) and a load support (3). A pair of trunnions (9,10) at the elbows (8) is connected by a threaded shaft (12). A movable brace (40) is supported between the arms (4-7). The brace (40) strengthens and adds support to the jack assembly (1). In a preferred embodiment, the brace (40) includes a guide assembly (30) which slidably engages the shaft (12) and connectors (41) pivoted between the guide (30) and each of the four arms (4,5,6,7). The connectors (41) are extensible socket (36) and rod (29) arrangements. Each connector (41) includes a coil spring (37) located over the rod (29) in the socket (36). The four springs (37) are compressed on extension of the jack (1) to assist in lifting a load.
