  • Patent number: 9347610
Abstract: A method for making large pressure vessels using a composite over-wrap process and a soluble mandrel structure that is scalable to a much larger vessel size than can normally be accommodated by the over-wrap process. The method allows the production of very large, lightweight vessels with no seams and no metal liners. Extensions of the method provide for the fabrication of fully embedded threaded or non-threaded bosses of composite materials, and fully embedded longitudinal and circumferential stringers or stiffeners.

  • Publication number: 20160138122
Abstract: In some aspects, a heat treatment process is described for precipitation hardening steel. The heat treatment process can include a solution treatment for a precipitation hardening steel part. The solution treatment includes heating the precipitation hardening steel part to an austenitizing temperature. The heat treatment process can also include a quenching or cooling treatment, in which the precipitation hardening steel part is cooled to a martensitizing temperature. The heat treatment process can also include an aging treatment, in which the precipitation hardening steel part is heated to a temperature of 1000° F. and held at that temperature for five or more hours until a fracture toughness of the precipitation hardening steel part is greater than 120 ksi?in.

  • Patent number: 7595148
Abstract: This invention provides novel methods and compositions for modulating T cell differentiation and T cell responses. The modulators are identified by screening test compounds for ability to modulate an inositol 1,4,5-trisphosphate 3-kinase (IP3K). The IP3K modulators can be further examined for their activity in modulating development of progenitor T cells (e.g., CD4+/CD8+ double positive T cells) into mature CD4+ or CD8+ single positive T cells. Pharmaceutical compositions comprising these T cell modulators can be administered to a subject to modulate T cell immune responses, to suppress inflammations, and to treat disease conditions such as autoimmune diseases, graft rejection or allergies.
