  • Publication number: 20240331570
Abstract: A test model may include a chamber, a tissue simulation material, and a visual indicator. The chamber may include a base, a lid, and an interior volume defined between the base and the lid. The tissue simulation material may be disposed within the interior volume of the chamber. The tissue simulation material may include a first surface and a second surface. The tissue simulation material may be configured to deform when the second surface is exposed to a lower pressure than the first surface in the interior volume of the chamber. The visual indicator may be configured to provide a visual state change in response to deformation of the tissue simulation material.

  • Publication number: 20230390116
Abstract: A treatment system for applying negative pressure therapy and fluid instillation treatment to a tissue site, particularly an abdominal tissue site, is disclosed. In some embodiments, the treatment system may include a dressing member, a plurality of fluid removal pathways, a fluid instillation matrix, a drape, a negative-pressure source, and a fluid instillation source. Instillation fluid may be delivered from the fluid instillation source to the tissue site through the fluid instillation matrix, and negative pressure may be communicated and fluid withdrawn from the tissue site through the plurality of fluid removal pathways.

  • Patent number: 11419972
Abstract: A negative pressure wound therapy device, kit, and method are provided for improved treatment of wounds on complex three-dimensional anatomies. The device includes a conformable manifold made of a porous and permeable material with a pattern of cuts designed to transform the manifold from a relaxed, planar state to a pliable three-dimensional state when extended along the lateral axis. The kit further may include a wound interface layer, an adhesive, breathable drape, and a pneumatic connection to a negative pressure wound therapy device. Finally, a method for treating wounds using reduced pressure and the presently disclosed kit is provided.

  • Publication number: 20210393442
Abstract: A dressing includes an evaporative film layer having a wound-facing side and a non-wound¬ facing side. The evaporative film layer has a high moisture vapor transfer rate. The dressing includes a carrier film layer coupled to the non-wound-facing side of the evaporative film layer. A plurality of holes extends through the carrier film layer. The dressing includes a superab sorbent layer coupled to the wound-facing side of the evaporative film layer and a wicking layer coupled to the superab sorbent layer. The superab sorbent layer is positioned between the wicking layer and the evaporative film layer. The wicking layer is configured to wick fluid from a wound, the superab sorbent layer is configured to absorb fluid from the wicking layer, and the evaporative film layer and the carrier film layer allow evaporation of fluid from the superabsorbent layer through the holes. The carrier film layer provides structural support to the evaporative film layer.
