Abstract: An apparatus enabling a user to perform a simulated bicycling exercise includes a frame, two mounting points defining an axis, the two mounting points comprising an upper rear mounting point comprising an upper rear rotating joint and a lower front mounting point comprising a pivoting connection arrangement proximate to and interacting with the frame, the pivoting connection arrangement comprising at least one resistive element configured to provide resistive force returning the frame to a neutral centered orientation from an off-centered orientation and pedals associated with a wheel and the frame, the pedals enabling the user, when facing forward, to apply force to the pedals and rotate the wheel. The frame is configured to receive forces from the user and dissipate the forces into frame leaning forces such that the user has an ability to cause the frame to pivot about the two mounting points by leaning to one side.

Abstract: A composition suitable for use as a hydraulic fluid comprises:(a) a lubricating oil preferably in an amount of from 20 to 80% by weight;(b) a minor amount of oil-soluble borate ester;(c) an amine which prevents deposition of oil-insoluble hydrolysis products of the borate ester; and optionally(d) an oil soluble orthoester of the formula: ##STR1## wherein R.sup.7, R.sup.8, R.sup.9 and R.sup.10 are specified groups.

Abstract: Hydraulic fluids containing novel compounds of the general formula ##STR1## wherein: (a) each R.sup.1 is a hydrocarbyl group, or a group of the formula: ##STR2## and each R.sup.1 may be the same as, or different from, any other group R.sup.1.(b) R.sup.2 is a group as defined for R.sup.1, or a group of the formula:--O(R.sup.5 O).sub.n Si(R.sup.1).sub.3 (iv)and each group R.sup.2 may be the same as, or different from, any other group R.sup.2.(c) each of R.sup.3 and R.sup.4 is independently a group of the formula: ##STR3## (d) R.sup.5 is an alkylene or an arylene group and each R.sup.5 may be the same as, or different from, any other group R.sup.5,(e) R.sup.6 is a hydrocarbyl group of hydrogens and each group R.sup.6 may be the same as, or different from, any other group R.sup.6,(f) n is zero or an integer and each n may be the same as, or different from, any other n.

Abstract: Novel silane derivatives having the general formula: ##STR1## wherein: (A) R is a group of the formula R.sup.4 --(OR.sup.5).sub.m --OR.sup.6 --;(b) each of R.sup.1 and R.sup.2 is independently alkyl, alkenyl, aryl, alkaryl or aralkyl, a group of the formula --OR.sup.3 or a group of the formula R.sup.4 --(OR.sup.5).sub.m --OR.sup.6 --;(c) R.sup.3 is a group of the formula R.sup.4 --(OR.sup.5).sub.m -- or a group of the formula: ##STR2## (D) R.sup.4 is alkyl, alkenyl, aryl, alkaryl or aralkyl; (E) R.sup.5 is alkylene;(f) R.sup.6 is alkylene;(g) m is zero or an integer;(h) each of R.sup.7 and R.sup.8 is independently alkyl, alkenyl, aryl, alkaryl or aralkyl, a group of the formula --OR.sup.9 or a group of the formula R.sup.4 --(OR.sup.5).sub.m --OR.sup.6 --; and(i) R.sup.9 is a group of the formula R.sup.4 --(OR.sup.5).sub.m --.Also disclosed are hydraulic fluids containing the novel compounds.

Abstract: As novel compounds, orthosilicate esters having the general formula: ##STR1## wherein R.sup.1 is a propylene glycol monoalkyl ether residue containing from 1 to 8 carbon atoms in the terminal alkyl group or is a tertiary alkyl group; each of R.sup.2, R.sup.3 and R.sup.4 is the same or different and is an ethylene or propylene glycol monoalkyl ether residue containing from 1 to 8 carbon atoms in the terminal alkyl group or is a tertiary alkyl group, provided that when R.sup.1 is a propylene glycol monoalkyl ether residue each of R.sup.2, R.sup.3 and R.sup.4 are also propylene glycol monoalkyl ether residues; the total number of carbon atoms in R.sup.1, R.sup.2, R.sup.3, and R.sup.4 being at least 15 and at least one of R.sup.1, R.sup.2, R.sup.3, and R.sup.4 being a glycol monoalkyl ether residue. Also disclosed are hydraulic fluids containing the novel compounds.
