Abstract: An X-Y table for carrying a workpiece in an X-Y plane comprises a base member with a work table mounted in supported relation on the base member so as to be independently movable in an X-direction and a Y-direction in an X-Y plane. There is an X direction drive motor for selectively moving the work table in the X direction in the X Y plane. The X direction drive motor is connected to the work table in movable relation in the Y direction to thereby accommodate movement of the work table in the Y direction. There is also a Y direction drive motor for selectively moving the work table in the Y direction in the X Y plane. The Y direction drive motor is connected to the work table in movable relation in the X direction to thereby accommodate movement of the work table in the X direction.
