    Abstract: An electrostatic reproduction machine in which imaging radiation is transmitted from a radiation source to selectively discharge a photoconductive insulating layer to form a latent image of a document. The photoconductive layer is arranged to move relative to and in an arcuate path adjacent a charging corotron which is misaligned or skewed with respect to a line parallel to the axis of said arcuate path to produce a non-uniform charge across the layer.
