  • Patent number: 9384479
Abstract: A method and a system are provided within a wireless network, for preventing fraudulent use of a Mobile Subscriber Integrated Services Digital Network Number (MSISDN) of a mobile phone terminal user. The IMSI and/or ICCID is associated with a respective Mobile Subscriber Integrated Services Digital Network Number (MSISDN) for the mobile phone terminal, and the associated IMSI and/or ICCID and MSISDN are stored. Upon receipt of a network request from a secure resource being accessed by the mobile phone user, the MSISDN is presented to the system. A Mobile Application Part (MAP) Send Routing Information (SRI) (or similar appropriate MAP query which can obtain the IMSI and/or ICCID) request to the wireless network is constructed for the extracted MSISDN, whereby the IMSI and/or ICCID currently associated with the MSISDN in the wireless network is obtained in reply to the SRI request.

  • Patent number: 8793188
Abstract: A card fraud prevention network and method are provided. The network includes a plurality of network-connected data processing terminals, including at least one server. Electronic authorization requests are received for authorizing the processing of an electronic transaction associated with a cardholder's card data or account data. The received requests are filtered according to predetermined or configurable criteria. A cardholder terminal is identified, to which the request is sent in order to notify the cardholder that processing of an electronic transaction is proposed, a parameter of which is the cardholder's card data or account data. Means are provided for interrupting processing of the, or any further, electronic transaction with that card data or account data, should the request correspond to an unauthorised transaction.

  • Publication number: 20130185166
Abstract: A method and system processes location data associated with a transaction in an electronic transaction processing system. The system comprises at least one point of sale terminal, such as a merchant terminal or ATM terminal, and at least one cardholder mobile terminal, each terminal being connected to a network and associated with a same electronic transaction. Data representative of the geographical location of the at least one point of sale terminal and data representative of the geographical location of the at least one cardholder mobile terminal is also obtained. The respective positional data of the terminals is compared, and an alert message is communicated over the network if the comparison indicates that the terminals are not located within a predetermined proximity to one another. The transaction can be authorised or rejected based on the position of the cardholder at the time to the transaction.

  • Publication number: 20120047072
Abstract: A system and method for preventing merchant electronic transaction fraud includes a plurality of network connected data processing terminals, including at least one server; means for receiving an electronic authorisation request at the server from a first data processing terminal, the request is for authorising the processing of an electronic transaction associated with a cardholder's card or account data; means for filtering the received request according to predetermined filtering criteria; means for identifying at least a second data processing terminal as a merchant device; means for sending the request to the merchant device, to notify the merchant that processing of an electronic transaction is proposed, a parameter of which is said cardholder's card or account data and alert data to indicate that the transaction is fraudulent; and means for receiving interrupt data from the second terminal and for interrupting processing of the transaction with that card data or account data.

  • Publication number: 20050006237
Abstract: An improved ion-sensing electrode for detecting ions or polyions is provided having an electrically conducting member sheathed or coated with a layer of insulation except at an exposed, uninsulated area, where the insulation free surface of the electrically conducting member is texturized, and a polymeric membrane coated on the insulation-free surface of the electrically conducting member, where the ion selective membrane includes an ionophore. The texturized surface improves the starting EMF stability and reproducibility of the ion-sensing electrodes, and further improves membrane adherence to the electrically conducting member.
