  • Patent number: 7931184
Abstract: An apparatus for induction friction solid state welding a body having a work piece receiving bore. A stationary chuck is provided for securing a first tubular workpiece in the bore. A moving chuck is provided for securing a second tubular workpiece in bore. An induction heating coil is movable between an operative position and a stored position. An expandable cylinder moves the moving chuck toward and away from the stationary chuck. A torque transmission collar is used to rotate the moving chuck.

  • Patent number: 5176433
Abstract: The present specification discloses a servo unit for use in a vehicle braking system, the servo unit comprising a housing within which a flexible diaphragm separates a vacuum pressure chamber from an atmospheric pressure chamber. An actuator rod assembly extends through the housing and includes a valve assembly having a valve control piston which has a laterally extending key, the key being engageable with a fixed stop in the housing to limit the movement of the valve control piston and cause a balance in the valve assembly between the vacuum and atmospheric pressure. A solenoid valve is also provided, the solenoid valve being controllable to either connect a flexible passage member extending around the actuator rod assembly across the vacuum pressure chamber between the housing and the diaphragm in the region of the valve assembly, to the vacuum pressure chamber, or to connect both the flexible passage member and a bypass leading from the solenoid valve to the atmospheric pressure chamber, to the atmosphere.

  • Patent number: 4391422
Abstract: Four reels (R1, R2, R3, R4) of wire are supported for rotation about parallel support shafts (62, 64, 66, 68) which are spaced apart longitudinally of a main frame (12). The carrier (10) has a first dispense position (FIG. 6) in which a first end (1) of the main frame (12) makes contact with the ground and such main frame (12) slopes upwardly from such end to the second end of the main frame (12). When in its first dispense position the carrier (10) is supported by the first end (1) of the frame (12) and wheels (54, 56) carried at the lower end of a wheel support frame (16) which extends downwardly from an intermediate portion of the main frame (12). The carrier (10) has a second dispense position (FIG. 7) in which it is supported on and by the wheels (54, 56) and the lower end (2) of a support stand frame ( 14) which depends downwardly from the second end of the main frame (12).

  • Patent number: 4385738
Abstract: A horizontal rectangular upper loop 10 is supported by four support members 20 attached to a base 4. Two shafts 30, offset from the loop 10, are supported at their ends by the support members 20 and at their midpoints by a U-shaped shaft support 40. The shaft support 40 is upwardly opening and has two ends 42 attached to opposite end members 14 of the loop 10. Two spools are mounted on each shaft 30, one on either side of the shaft support 40. Any one spool can be replaced without disturbing any other spool.

  • Patent number: 3980004
Abstract: A piston and seal assembly is adapted to work in a cylinder, particularly a master cylinder of a vehicle braking system, the seal having a lip which sealingly engages the cylinder bore on the pressure stroke, an inner portion mounted on the piston, and an interconnecting portion between the lip and the inner portion. A retaining member holds the seal on the piston and engages the interconnecting portion during the return stroke of the piston so that the seal flexes about the line of engagement between the retaining member and the interconnecting portion to provide a recuperation flow path between the lip and the cylinder bore.
