Publication number: 20190065515Abstract: An online platform generates a playlist of clips of a lecture accessed by a plurality of users of the online platform. The online platform receives a recording of the lecture, and receives a plurality of events captured during a time period corresponding to the lecture. Each captured event is associated with a time stamp corresponding to a time at which a user performed an activity while listening to the lecture. The online platform clusters the captured events based on the time stamps, and generates one or more clips of the recording of the lecture from the clustered events. The online platform generates a playlist including the clips of the lecture.Type: ApplicationFiled: October 26, 2018Publication date: February 28, 2019Applicant: Chegg, Inc.Inventors: Oliver Raskin, Colin Murphy, Vincent Le Chevalier

Publication number: 20070130862Abstract: An adhesive for securing a roofing system to a substrate includes a magnesium oxide matrix having dispersed therethrough a plurality of particles or fibers. The dispersant coating is operative to suppress electrostatic attraction between the particles or fibers. An elastomeric overlayer is placed in interfacial contact with the magnesium oxide matrix containing the plurality of particles or fibers prior to set of the matrix so as to form a bond therebetween. A roofing system is detailed that includes an intermediate layer having an asphaltic layer that terminates in an asphaltic surface and an exposed non-asphaltic fibrous surface. An elastomeric outer weatherproof coating is applied in adhesive contact with the fibrous surface resulting in a weatherproof roofing system. The elastomeric outer weatherproof coating is amenable to application with a sprayer or roller with the non-asphaltic fibrous surface absorptive of such a liquid coating.Type: ApplicationFiled: November 29, 2005Publication date: June 14, 2007Inventors: Blaine Semmens, Colin Murphy

Publication number: 20070130864Abstract: A roofing system includes an insulation layer and an exposed fiber surface of a sheet. A cement layer is placed intermediate therebetween. An elastomeric outer weatherproof coating overlies the sheet. A process for applying to a roofing system is provided that includes applying to a roofing substrate an insulation layer having an upper surface. Wet cement is applied on the upper surface of the insulation layer. An exposed fiber surface of a sheet is placed in contact cement. The sheet is then either directly or with intermediate layers therebetween overlayered with an elastomeric weatherproof coating. An insulation board is also provided that includes an exposed fiber backing. The exposed fiber backing accepts an overlayer of elastomer, cement, or mastic.Type: ApplicationFiled: January 13, 2006Publication date: June 14, 2007Inventors: Blaine Semmens, Colin Murphy

Publication number: 20070097740Abstract: Content-addressable memory (CAM) cells comprised of phase change material devices (PCMDs), including PCMD-based binary CAM cells (PCMD-based BCAM cells), PCMD-based ternary CAM cells (PCMD-based TCAM cells), and PCMD-based universal CAM cells (PCMD-based UCAM cells). The PCMDs of the various PCMD-based CAM cells are configured and programmed in a manner that allows a logic “0” or a logic “1” to be stored by the CAM cell. The logic value stored by a given PCMD-based CAM cell depends on the program states of the PCMDs. A program state of a PCMD is determined by whether the phase change material of the PCMD has been allowed to solidify to a crystalline, low-resistance state during a programming operation, or whether the phase change material of the PCMD is forced to solidify to an amorphous, high-resistance state during the programming operation.Type: ApplicationFiled: November 3, 2005Publication date: May 3, 2007Inventors: Narbeh Derhacobian, Colin Murphy

Patent number: 5882043Abstract: A square or circular apron formed of plastic coated disk-like sheet metal or fiber-metal reinforced synthetic material is bonded to a circular ring gasket having a surface conforming to the upper mating surface of an existing roof drain flange. Reinforcing rib depressions are formed in the apron outer region. The apron extends for a major radial extent beyond the periphery of the drain flange and with the gasket is clamped to the drain flange via existing bolt holes in the drain using stainless steel or bronze replacement bolts. Screws clamp the apron and the underlying roof membrane, which may be bonded to the apron to form a water tight seal, to the deck. A metal clamp ring may be used to clamp the apron and gasket to the drain flange. Various embodiments are disclosed.Type: GrantFiled: October 14, 1997Date of Patent: March 16, 1999Assignee: Exterior Research & Design, LLCInventors: Colin Murphy, Robert Mills

Patent number: 5709059Abstract: A circular thin metal or thermoplastic disc stress plate has an annular stiffening rim and groove and a central opening. Three equilateral and symmetrically oriented elongated nail-like members depend from the plate at the rib and groove inclined in diverging relation relative to a vertical axis normal to and central the plate on a conical surface of revolution. The members extend radially beyond the perimeter of the stress plate projected onto the members forming an annular attachment region to a cementitious substrate significantly greater than the area subtended by the stress plate. Two or more than three members may be used in the alternative. The nail-like members have conical tips which may be any shape and blunt. The members preferably are circular cylinder steel, may be other transverse sectional shapes, and are driven individually or simultaneously into the substrate either through holes in the plate or penetrate the plate material by a power operated nail driving tool.Type: GrantFiled: April 3, 1996Date of Patent: January 20, 1998Assignee: Exterior Research & Design, LLCInventors: Colin Murphy, Robert Mills, Mark Reichlin, Steven Bunn, Charles Phillips

Patent number: 5049018Abstract: A fastener having a head portion, a shaft portion, and a hook portion which secures the fastener within a substrate. The hook portion may have a plurality of serrations on a surface thereof for gripping a substrate. The hook may be of a material having a memory such that, when the hook is compressed during the insertion of the fastener in a hole in a substrate, the hook will expand against the walls of the hole in a desire to return to its original shape. Such a fastener may be easily inserted into the hole, but considerable force is required to remove the fastener from the hole after insertion. The fastener thus can be inserted easily through soft materials overlying a hard substrate without damaging them while providing an effective anchoring force within the substrate in effectively fastening materials to a substrate.Type: GrantFiled: August 10, 1990Date of Patent: September 17, 1991Assignee: Engineered Construction ComponentsInventor: Colin Murphy
