  • Patent number: 5885585
Abstract: The invention is directed to attenuated canine parvovirus (CPV) strains which may be used as a veterinary vaccine against CPV disease. The invention is further directed to a virus stock generated from a genomic DNA clone of the attenuated CPV strain which is used as a veterinary vaccine and is able to confer protective immunity to dogs against challenge with virulent CPV. Methods are given for the production of an attenuated CPV virus from a cloned CPV genome which may be used as a veterinary vaccine.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: May 15, 1996
