  • Publication number: 20230027707
Abstract: A system for detecting rotational over travel includes: an angular position sensor comprising a rotor rotatable about an axis, the angular position sensor configured to output one or more electrical signals to indicate an angular position of the rotor about the axis and/or a number of turns completed by the rotor about the axis; and a device comprising a first operating mode and a second operating mode and configured to transition from the first operating mode to the second operating mode in response to the rotor rotating beyond at least one angular position threshold, wherein the transition from the first operating mode to the second operating mode is independent of the one or more electrical signals.

  • Publication number: 20220397134
Abstract: A system for controlling a hydraulic component. The system includes a control system configured to carry out a health check routine having steps of (A) fluidly connecting one of the hydraulic supply systems with the component until (i) a predetermined pressure is reached on the hydraulic supply side and/or the hydraulic return side, and/or (ii) a predetermined amount of time has passed; then (B) isolating the pressurised hydraulic fluid within the hydraulic supply side and the hydraulic return side so that hydraulic fluid leaks from the hydraulic supply side to the hydraulic return side via the controlled leakage; (C) monitoring the pressure of hydraulic fluid within the hydraulic supply side (50S) and/or the hydraulic return side over time; and then (D) determining if the pressure of hydraulic fluid within the hydraulic supply side and/or the hydraulic return side follows a predetermined or expected pattern.

  • Patent number: 9449479
Abstract: Known security systems issue an audible and/or visible alarm to alert all those local to a secured article that the article has been compromised. However, for various reasons, passers-by do not respond to such an alarm/alert. According to the present invention, if an intruder interferes with a secured article, a sensor may detect an event associated with an article being interfered with and/or compromised. This detection will trigger (via a processor) an alarm condition, and a transceiver will send an alarm signal to a monitoring device over a communication network; however, no indication of the alarm condition is detectable outside the housing by means other than via the alarm signal. In this way, an intruder compromising an article is not alerted to detection of the event by the sensor. Therefore, authorities may be summoned to apprehend the intruder without the intruder being provided with the opportunity to escape.

  • Patent number: 7083590
Abstract: A device suitable for use as an intra vaginal device or as a bolus where, after initiation, a member (usually a plunger) moves with a known movement characteristic and is involved in the stagger release of multiple materials. That moving member is used to time the discharge of one or more material from its reservoir in the device (there being separate powering of the timed discharge) or is used to both time and indirectly power the discharge of one or more material from its reservoir, such discharges preferably being in a staggered manner. Optionally the moving member as a plunger may itself also directly discharge a material from a reservoir.
