  • Publication number: 20080217413
Abstract: An apparatus and method for providing a radio frequency identification (RFID) card, the card including a card inlay; an antenna positioned on the card inlay, a RFID integrated circuit (IC) on the card inlay, a pressure-sensitive switch including an electrode structure located on or in the card inlay and coupled to the antenna and the RFID IC via the electrode structure, the pressure-sensitive switch having an electrical resistance that varies with a pressure applied to the switch, and a dam of material in a vicinity around of the pressure-sensitive switch to provide a barrier against a lateral pressure being applied to the switch.

  • Publication number: 20080061149
Abstract: An identification token includes a body and a radio frequency identification (RFID) integrated circuit (IC) supported by the body. A light sensor is coupled to the RFID IC. The RFID IC is operative to transmit an identification code in response to an interrogation signal only if the light sensor is detecting ambient light.

  • Publication number: 20080061148
Abstract: An identification token includes a body and an RFID IC embedded in the body. The RFID IC includes a first terminal and a second terminal. An antenna is also embedded in the body and is coupled between the terminals of the RFID IC to form two connections between the RFID IC and the antenna. A user-actuatable switch is supported by the body and has two different states. The switch is coupled to at least one of the terminals of the RFID IC. The connections between the RFID IC and the antenna are uninterrupted when the switch is in either state. The switch is not coupled to the RFID IC by any terminal other than the two terminals by which the antenna is coupled to the RFID IC.

  • Publication number: 20080054078
Abstract: An identification token includes a body and an RFID IC embedded in the body. An antenna is also embedded in the body and is coupled to the RFID IC. A switch is embedded in the body and coupled to at least one of the RFID IC and the antenna. The switch is located at a switch location in the body. The switch is actuatable by being pressed by a user's finger. The identification token also includes a printed indication on the body for indicating the switch location to the user of the identification token.

  • Publication number: 20080035740
Abstract: A radio frequency identification (RFID) module for an identification token includes a module body and an RFID integrated circuit (IC) mounted on or in the module body. The RFID module also includes a pressure-sensitive switching device mounted on or in the module body. An identification token may be manufactured using the RFID module as a component of the identification token, so that the proximity payment device includes a user-actuatable switch without requiring separate operations to incorporate the switch during assembly of the identification token.

  • Publication number: 20070253656
Abstract: Arrangements may include a bearing assembly, the bearing assembly having a bearing housing ring, the housing ring having an inner bore, at least a portion of the inner bore including a dry lubricant coating; a bearing, the bearing including: an outer race, the outer race having an outer surface received within the inner bore of the housing ring, at least a portion of the outer surface including a chromate anti-corrosive coating; and an inner race, the inner race having an inner race bore, and outer surface, and two radial end surfaces each extending between the inner race bore and the outer surface, at least a portion of the inner race bore, outer surface, and radial end surfaces include the chromate coating disposed thereon. Associated methods and arrangements are also described.
