  • Patent number: 11812887
Abstract: Methods, apparatus, and system to distribute or compact coffee grounds, such as to form a puck in a portafilter. The methods, apparatus, and system may be used to compact coffee grounds wherein a resulting puck of coffee grounds in the portafilter has an even level, a uniform and or continuous density distribution, results in no or reduced formation of channels, no or reduced squirting of extracted coffee, and results in consistent and repeatable results. The methods, apparatus, and system may be used to form multiple layers in a puck, for use in preparing layered espresso.
    Type: Grant

  • Publication number: 20220395599
Abstract: A sanitation device includes a housing with a channel extending into the housing and a plurality of openings in the channel. A plurality of light emitting diodes emit light through the openings in the channel. A shield is coupled to the housing and a motion sensor emits and detect light through the shield when activated, such that the shield narrows a field of view of the motion sensor. The sanitation device is positioned near a common touch point with the motion sensor determining when an object is near, and has moved away from, the touch point. The plurality of light emitting diodes are activated to clean the touch point after the object moves away. The sanitation device may further include a status indicator light to provide information regarding the current state of operation of the sanitation device.

  • Publication number: 20140332246
Abstract: A damper system for a power cell includes a single-piece top damper element disposed on the power cell, a pair of middle damper elements disposed about a mid-portion of the power cell, and a single-piece bottom damper element that is formed from a material having Shore hardness in the range of about 90 A to 95 A. The middle damper elements are mutually identical in construction, and include interlocking features that are configured to allow a releasable engagement therebetween. The bottom damper element defines a central opening therein, and includes a base plate disposed about the central opening. The bottom damper element further includes appendages extending axially from a top side of the base plate, and a lateral projection extending radially inward from each of the appendages. The lateral projection is configured to abut a top side of a keel member defined at a bottom portion of the power cell.

  • Publication number: 20140332244
Abstract: An enclosure for a power cell of a hydraulic hammer includes a single-piece hollow elongated body, a resilient cover, and multiple deformable plugs. The body includes a top flange, and an integrally formed polyhedral mid-portion. The mid-portion includes multiple sidewalls, and an end wall that is integral with a bottom end of the sidewalls. The sidewalls define a first sealing aperture, a second sealing aperture, and a pair of arcuate openings thereon. The resilient cover includes laterally disposed first and second portions that are configured to releasably engage with the body to cover a top portion and a bottom portion of the arcuate opening respectively. The deformable plugs are releasably engaged with the body at the first and second sealing apertures. The plugs include resilient members that co-operate with interfitting features located adjacent to the first and second sealing apertures of the body.
