  • Publication number: 20190032828
Abstract: Embodiments of a threaded component locking apparatus for preventing inadvertent disconnection of the male and female connection are disclosed. One embodiment includes an annular groove around the male member spaced from its threads and a ring shaped retainer disposed in the annular groove. A rear lip on the female threaded component interferes with the ring shaped retainer to prevent loosened connection between the components from becoming completely disconnected. Another embodiment utilizes a C-clip retainer member to limit loosening of the connection. Another embodiment utilizes a canted spring ring to interfere with and limit loosening of the connection. Another embodiment has a pair of collar halves that fit around the male member each having an annular groove for receiving a canted spring ring or ring shaped retainer to interfere with a rear lip on the female threaded component to limit loosening of the connection.

  • Patent number: 10010894
Abstract: An apparatus for retarding rotation of a nozzle includes a hollow housing, a rotary shaft within the housing, a rotatable rotor on the rotary shaft free to move axially along the shaft, and a cam assembly coupling the rotor and shaft together in the housing such that rotor rotation on the shaft causes the cam assembly to displace the rotor axially on the shaft in a first direction. A set of springs on the shaft biases the rotor in a second direction opposite the first direction on the shaft. Finally, a viscous fluid disposed between the rotor and the housing generates a drag on rotor rotation with the shaft. Relative rotation of the rotor with respect to the shaft in conjunction with a variable gap between the rotor and housing are used to slow and thus control rotary nozzle speed.

  • Patent number: 9845594
Abstract: A nozzle assembly comprises a hollow nozzle body having a central bore and a plurality of ports extending through the body from the central bore; and a switching valve cartridge disposed in the central bore that directs fluid flow to ports upon application of fluid flow above a predetermined threshold to the inlet and direct fluid flow to different ports upon fluid flow having subsequently dropped below the predetermined threshold and then exceeding the predetermined threshold. The cartridge comprises a cylindrical cartridge case having a front portion and a cup shaped rear portion, a cylindrical poppet slidably disposed within the cup shaped rear portion of the cartridge case, and a biasing member within the cartridge case between the front portion of the case and the poppet urging the poppet away from the front portion of the cartridge case.

  • Publication number: 20160243564
Abstract: A rotary nozzle apparatus is disclosed which includes a cup shaped outer housing having a central axis, a wall portion and a bottom portion. A tubular inner housing is centered on the central axis within the outer housing engaging the wall portion of the outer housing. A distal end of an elongated tubular nozzle body carries a nozzle head extending through a passage out of the inner housing to an opening through the bottom portion of the outer housing. The nozzle body is configured to rotate around a conical inner wall portion of the inner housing in response to rotational fluid flow into the inner housing. The angle of the nozzle body with respect to the central axis, and hence fluid spray angle may be adjusted from a wide spray angle to an axial stream by changing spacing between the bottom portion of the outer housing and the inner housing.
