Abstract: A slide lock stop interrupt mechanism operable upon the insertion of an interchangeable ammunition magazine into the magazine well of a semi-automatic firearm whereby contact between the magazine and a connection lever is made which automatically manipulates and interrupts the slide lock stop and releases the slide from the open and locked position to advance in a forward direction to chamber the first round contained in the inserted magazine returning the firearm to battery position ready for firing.
