  • Patent number: 6845699
Abstract: A wood working tool includes a cutting blade, a carrier, which can receive wood, and a guide device associated with the carrier for causing movement past the cutting blade on a predetermined path, so that a timer carried by the carrier can be cut reproducibly to size. The carrier may have a groove which corresponds to the shape to be cut, which is received by the guide device, and on movement of the carrier, the interaction between the groove and the guide device causes the carrier to follow a required path. The tool can be provided with a device for allowing a number of similar articles to be cut from a single piece of material and the cutting of similar pieces can be effected automatically.

  • Patent number: 6691993
Abstract: A clamp comprises at least two opposed clamping surfaces and at least two opposed second clamping surfaces disposed perpendicularly to them, at least two opposed pressure-bearing surfaces spaced apart and located on longitudinal axes of the first clamping surfaces and disposed at an angle from the first clamping surfaces, and two rigid pressure-bearing points, one of the pressure-bearing points located to align when in use adjacent to one of the pressure-bearing surfaces and the other pressure-bearing point located to align when in use adjacent to the other pressure-bearing surface. A device or manner of imparting a longitudinal force such that the pressure-bearing surfaces are urged against the pressure-bearing points is also included. As the angled pressure-bearing surfaces slide over the pressure-bearing points in response to the longitudinal force, that longitudinal force is translated into a clamping force that urges the opposed clamping surfaces towards each other.

  • Publication number: 20030025261
Abstract: A clamp (1) comprising: two opposed first clamping surfaces (5), two opposed second clamping surfaces (6) disposed perpendicularly to the planes of the first clamping surfaces, two opposed bearing surfaces (4) spaced apart and located on the longitudinal axes of the first clamping surfaces and disposed at an angle from the first clamping surfaces, and two rigid bearing points, one of said bearing points located to align when in use adjacent to one of the bearing surfaces and the other bearing point located to align when in use adjacent to the other bearing surface, and means (20) for imparting a longitudinal force such that the bearing surfaces are urged against the bearing points.
