The method and apparatus provides a set of user interface tools for selecting a source audio clip and a target audio clip. The user interface tools determine a maximum voice volume of each clip. Based on the maximum voice volumes, the user interface tools adjust the volume of the target audio clip. The adjustment changes the maximum voice volume of the target audio clip to match the maximum voice volume of the first audio clip.
