  • Publication number: 20200002901
Abstract: In a method of and an apparatus for improving the quality of an asphalt pavement, the asphalt is charged in a supply arrangement (2) adapted to be fitted in an inlet space (11) of a road finishing machine (1). The supply arrangement comprises a rotary vessel (3) in the shape of a truncated cone with a top inlet (30) and a smaller bottom outlet (31). The rotary vessel (3) has internal irregularities (32) for homogenizing the asphalt as to particle size and temperature. Preferably a distributing device (9) including at least one dividing member (93) and a rearrangement device (95) is also used, having the at least one dividing member (93) extending transversely over the belt conveyor (12) under the bottom outlet (31) to divide the flow of asphalt into layers, on top of one another, and the rearrangement device (95) to optimize form and feeding.

  • Patent number: 9765481
Abstract: A fabric, in particular a press felt, is provided for use in a press section of a machine for producing a fiber web such as a paper, cardboard, or tissue web. The fabric is formed of multiple strips which are arranged adjacent one another and extend substantially parallel to one another in a machine direction. The strips together form a width of the fabric in the machine transverse direction. Each strip is designed as a double-layered sheet material. Strips arranged adjacently in respective pairs are connected by way of a connecting strip. A part of the width of each of the connecting strips extends in the machine transverse direction into the two adjacent strips. The strips are connected to the connecting strips.

  • Patent number: 6783570
Abstract: The present invention provides a possibility to evaluate cooling curves recorded in near-eutectic cast iron melts. The curves are evaluated by generated in the melt in the center of the sample to the melt as a function of time. This information is then used to identify the part of the centrally recorded cooling curve that can be used as a basis for determining the amount of structure-modifying agent that must be added to produce compacted graphite cast iron, and/or spheroidal graphite cast iron, and to identify the part of said curve that is associated with formation of primary austenite.

  • Patent number: 5967656
Abstract: The invention relates to a method and an apparatus for homogenizing bulk material, wherein the bulk material is supplied from above into a container which is restricted sidewards and downwards and is fed out by means of a feeding out conveyor located in the lower portion of the container. The characteristic features of the invention are that the bulk material is fed in from above in one end of the container (20), wherein the bulk material is caused to slide down towards the opposite end of the container such that a bed of bulk material is formed having a sloping profile in the container, and wherein, due to the sliding, heavier and/or coarser fractions of the bulk material slides more than lighter fractions, and that during each time unit a volume of bulk material is fed out from the bottom portion of the container from each section (.DELTA.
