Publication number: 20180265266Abstract: A drinking container lid assembly a lid body, a closing mechanism, and a lockout mechanism. The lid body includes a drink opening. The closing mechanism attaches with the lid body and is movable between an open operating position and a closed operating position. The closing mechanism allows the flow of liquid from an associated drinking container through the drink opening when in the open operating position, and precludes the flow of liquid from the drinking container through the drink opening when in the closed operating position. The lockout mechanism includes a movable member biased toward liquid in the drinking container when the lid assembly is engaged with the drinking container. The movable member is configured to engage with the closing mechanism to inhibit moving the closing mechanism from the closed operating position to the open operating position when pressure in the drinking container exceeds a predetermined threshold.Type: ApplicationFiled: March 15, 2017Publication date: September 20, 2018Inventors: Conor P. Publication number: 20120037654Abstract: A container lid which seals about a peripheral lip contacting a corresponding container is disclosed. A flexible material, such as a silicone rubber, thermoplastic elastomer, or the like, is attached to at least a peripheral lip formed in a flexible substrate, such as a flexible metal or plastic material, having a first and second surface. The peripheral lip includes notches or slots to create individual sections in the lip to allow inward and outward flexing of the sections. When fitted to a container, the coated flexible substrate forms a seal between the container and the container lid. Preferably, the flexible substrate is formed in such a way that it is bi-stable, thus capable of existing in either a convex or concave state. In one embodiment of the container lid the flexible substrate includes a plurality of grasping teeth (i.e., specialized flexing sections) distributed about the periphery of the flexible substrate.Type: ApplicationFiled: October 21, 2011Publication date: February 16, 2012Applicant: HELEN OF TROY LIMITEDInventor: Conor P. Patent number: 7458470Abstract: The present invention provides a rack including fingers which are pivotally mounted so that when an actuator is moved to an extended condition the fingers will simultaneously move to an extended position approximately perpendicular to the upper surface of the rack so that items may be placed thereon for uses such as drying. The fingers are pivotally attached to the actuator so that, upon movement to a retracted position, the fingers will pivot downward and to a retracted position below the upper surface providing a flat rack that is easily stored. The rack also includes a liquid indicator for identifying whether liquid is present within a base of the rack.Type: GrantFiled: July 27, 2007Date of Patent: December 2, 2008Assignee: Helen of Troy LimitedInventors: Goeran Jerstroem, Boris Kontorovich, Alec Drummond, Arsenio Garcia Monsalve, Sally Bernadine Rumble, Steven Dibdin, Conor P. Patent number: 6662406Abstract: A garden tool includes a work-engaging head joined by a shank to a plastic handle. The handle has a relatively rigid plastic core body. A cavity is formed in the handle to divide it into forward and rearward portions. The cavity is filled with a flexible and resilient material to accommodate flexing of the rearward portion relative to the forward portion. A flexible and resilient gripping sheath covers the outer surface of the core body except for the cavity. In one embodiment the cavity is in the core body and includes a notch. For digging tools, such as trowels, the notch is formed on the lower side of the core body adjacent to the distal end, while for pulling or raking tools, such as plows, the notch is formed on the upper side of the core body adjacent to the working end. A recess may be formed in the core body opposite the notch for cooperation with the notch to define a narrow hinge.Type: GrantFiled: July 27, 2001Date of Patent: December 16, 2003Assignee: WKI Holding Company, Inc.Inventors: Richard C.
