  • Patent number: 4596504
Abstract: A quick acting, self locking fastener of the spiral cam type is provided with a receptacle comprising a housing having a bottom, open top and a pair of opposed sidewalls. One of the walls is provided with a lip at the top thereof and the opposed wall is provided with a slot at its top. The closure for the housing includes a pair of biased faces which define a clip therebetween. The bottom face is provided with a slot at one end and a lip at the opposite end. A spring within the housing includes a central section that forms a cross pin for an associated stud and end sections that serve to bias the opposed sidewalls apart to secure the engagement of the sidewall's lip and slot with those of the bottom face of the closure.

  • Patent number: 4442561
Abstract: A fastener including an enlarged head portion and a reduced diameter shank portion extending from one end of the head portion. A cam slot is formed in the end of the shank distal from the head portion. The cam slot has a spiral configuration and the entrance end of the full width of the slot is widened to facilitate coupling and uncoupling of the fastener with a cam follower introduced to the cam slot for forming a fastener assembly.

  • Patent number: 4378615
Abstract: An improved fastener receptacle of the press-in type for use with a spiral cam slot type fastener stud and which is useful in providing protection against dust, weather and radio-frequency leakage. The receptacle includes a casing having a cylindrical side wall formed with a serrated toothed shoulder and a groove and rib immediately adjacent thereto providing a self-clinching press-in mounting at the inner end of the cylindrical wall and with diametrically opposite longitudinal slots near the outer end and having a sealing cap enclosing the outer end of the cylindrical wall and longitudinal slots. A locking bar is disposed diametrically within the cylindrical wall with its opposite ends disposed in the slots and is normally urged towards the outer end thereof by means of a helical spring whereby the locking bar may shift inwardly against the force exerted by the spring when it is engaged by the spiral cam slot of a fastener stud.

  • Patent number: 4352513
Abstract: A toggle latch for fastening two members together. The latch includes a base adapted to be coupled to one member to be fastened and a draw bar connected to the base and having a free end for engagement with the other member to be fastened. A lever having an opening therein is connected to the draw bar and the base and is pivotable to shift the draw bar between open and closed positions to unfasten and fasten the two members respectively. A spring catch is provided having an anchor portion affixed to the lever. A resilient intermediate portion of the spring catch extends from the anchor portion and terminates in an actuator arm projecting through the opening in the lever. The resilient intermediate portion biases the actuator arm in one direction and permits the arm to be moved in a second direction.

  • Patent number: 4333211
Abstract: A slip-on receptacle adapted to be inserted on one of two members to be fastened in alignment with a hole therein and to receive and engage with a stud coupled with the other of the two members so as to fasten the two members together. The receptacle includes a resilient strip folded upon itself with one section of the strip engaging the undersurface of the one member and another section of the strip engaging the upper surface of the one member. A central portion of the strip is severed along both side edges and across the one end thereof which is folded upwardly and back upon itself above the upper section to form a cantilever spring. The cantilever spring is in alignment with the hole in the one member and is designed to receive the stud coupled with the other member and passed through the hole and to interengage with the stud and hold the members together.

  • Patent number: 4227287
Abstract: A full ejection stud assembly adapted to be coupled to one member and removably interconnected with a receptacle coupled to a second member to form a fastener assembly for holding the two members together. The stud assembly includes a stud having an enlarged head and a reduced diameter shank extending from one side of the head. A cup is provided with a through passageway for slidably extending the shank of the stud therethrough. The cup is adapted to be mounted on the one member in position with respect to an opening in the one member so that the shank of the stud can pass reciprocally therethrough. A retainer is on the cup and stud to limit the reciprocal movement of the stud shank through the passageway of the cup and the opening in the one member between a closed position for interconnection with a receptacle to hold the two members together and an open position free of the receptacle to permit separation of the two members.

  • Patent number: 4073455
Abstract: A tiltable bracket which includes a first elongated member and a second elongated member. The members are pivotally interconnected and are restrained in a position with their respective longitudinal axes aligned. The members are pivotally interconnected to provide for relative pivoting therebetween a predetermined angular distance. A stop is provided to prevent further pivoting beyond the predetermined annular distance without restricting return of the members to the position with their longitudinal axes aligned.
