  • Publication number: 20150344370
Abstract: The invention relates to a coated article containing a) a substrate (S) with a transmission of at least 88% (measured according to ASTM E 1348 with 3 mm layer thickness and a wavelength of 550 nm), comprising a substrate layer consisting of a thermoplastic polymer containing a flame-retardant agent, and b) a scratch-resistant coating (K) containing silica micro-particles on the substrate, said coating (K) containing 0.2 to 1.8 wt. %. silica micro-particles relative to the solids content thereof. The invention further relates to the production of such coated articles and the use thereof, especially for producing flat screens.

  • Publication number: 20120308829
Abstract: The invention relates to highly transparent coated articles comprising a substrate (S) of a transparent thermoplastic polymer containing flameproofing agents and, on one side or on both sides, a silica-containing scratch-resistant coating (K) and optionally polyelectrolyte (multi)layers (P) on one or both sides. The invention relates in addition to the production of such coated articles and to their use, in particular in the production of flat display units.

  • Publication number: 20060234008
Abstract: A composite system having insulation properties is disclosed. The system includes a multi-wall profile and a thermal insulation element. The profile, made of a thermoplastic material includes a transparent upper plate and a radiation-absorbing lower plate that are joined together by webs; the webs extending in the longitudinal direction in such a manner that flow channels parallel one to the others are formed. The outer surface of the lower plate is joined to the thermal insulation element. The system is particularly suitable for use as solar collector.

  • Publication number: 20060130827
Abstract: A solar thermal collector comprising multiplicity of chords and webs is disclosed. The first, second and third horizontal chord of the solar thermal collector are connected to one another by webs positioned vertically to said horizontal chords. The first horizontal chord is transparent and the second horizontal chord, which is positioned between the first and third horizontal chords, absorbs thermal radiation and is perforated. The horizontal chords and said webs of the inventive solar thermal collector comprise thermoplastic materials. Producing the solar thermal collector including perforating the second horizontal chord by means of a laser beam is also disclosed.
