A content creation, such as a video recorder or a still camera, device can store labels of the rights and can associate usage rights with content in real time as the content is created.

The method includes transmitting user credentials associated with a user of a device, the device having authorization to access content in a first content domain, and receiving temporary authorization for the device to access content in a second content domain based at least in part on a determination that the user associated with the user credentials has a license to access content in the second content domain.
