    Abstract: A screed for a paver has a baseplate and at least one tamper bar arranged in front of the baseplate. The tamper bar extends transversely to the paving direction and is movable in upward and downward directions by means of an eccentric drive and is capable of being electrically heated. At least one coil is provided, which is arranged so as to be adjacent to the tamper bar and to which a high-frequency current may be applied by means of an electrical current source. The current flowing through the coil induces eddy currents in the tamper bar such that the tamper bar becomes heated.
