  • Publication number: 20030062729
Abstract: A latch apparatus is provided for selectively securing a movable structure, such as, for example, a gate, to a fixed structure, such as, for example, a fence post. The latch apparatus includes a latching bar mounted to the one of the fixed structure and the movable structure, a latch case mounted to the other of the fixed structure and the movable structure, a latch lever pivotally mounted to the latch case, and a remote latch handle operatively connected to the latch lever. The remote latch handle is mounted to one of the fixed structure and the movable structure, and movable only in a substantially linear manner.

  • Patent number: 5318264
Abstract: Infinitely adjustable shelving including a vertically elongated standard having a vertically elongated outwardly facing slot therein, a U-shaped bracket positionably mounted on the standard and being horizontally elongated with the proximal end (nearer the standard) being equipped with upper and lower connection means which are arranged to provide a locking force on the standard in conjunction with an intermediate protuberance on the bracket.

  • Patent number: 5257839
Abstract: A latch incorporates a latch member in the form of a leaf spring which is connected by an overcenter operating lever mechanism to a case mounted to a door for latching engagement with a strike mounted to another door or frame member. The strike incorporates guide rails for guiding the latch member into engagement with the strike, and the case includes an upstanding part for receiving a part of a lock with another part of the lock extending through an opening in the lever mechanism.

  • Patent number: 4486917
Abstract: A door closer includes a spring-loaded piston forming part of a conventional pneumatic dashpot, which retards the speed of a door during closing, and an elastomeric sleeve which is longitudinally compressed during opening of the door to retard the speed of the door during opening and to apply substantial resistance to further opening movement as the door approaches its fully open position. Closing speed of the door is also initially retarded by the compressed sleeve.

  • Patent number: 4483044
Abstract: Door speed is controlled by a pneumatic dashpot including a spring-loaded piston having a piston rod which extends through an elastomeric silicone rubber braking sleeve which is longitudinally compressed as the door opens to increase the friction between the piston rod and the sleeve. One or more enlargements on the piston rod provide increased friction as the rod moves through the braking sleeve to control closing speed and to provide greater wind resistance.
