Abstract: Encoding audio signals with selecting an encoding mode for encoding the signal categorizing the signal into active segments having voice activity and non-active segments having substantially no voice activity by using categorization parameters depending on the selected encoding mode and encoding at least the active segments using the selected encoding mode.

Abstract: An approach is provided for determining device compatibility using alerts and information spaces. A link redirector receives a request from a device for a required type of service. The link redirector alerts the device compatibility service and the export control interface about the potential request or stores the request information in an information space while searching for a suitable service for the device. Therefore, the device compatibility service and the export control interface can start preparing information about device compatibility and export control before the information is requested by the service determined.

Abstract: Disclosed is an apparatus having a detector for an iterative LDPC-coded MIMO-OFDM system, where the detector is configured to use a structured irregular LDPC code in conjunction with a belief propagation algorithm. Also disclosed is an apparatus having a detector for a structured irregular LDPC-coded MIMO-OFDM system, where the detector is configured to use an iterative Recursive Least Squares-based data detection and channel estimation technique. Corresponding methods and computer program products are also disclosed.
