These lipids may serve as palm oil alternatives and be processed and/or derivatized by any number of means known in the art. The microbial oil or derivative thereof may be used in a variety of personal care compositions. The present disclosure also relates to methods of producing derivatives from microbial oil and producing personal care compositions comprising a microbial oil and/or a derivative thereof.

The disclosure also relates to blended fat compositions comprising a vegetable oil and an edible microbial oil. The disclosure further relates edible microbial oils and derivatives, and to food products comprising an edible microbial oil and/or a derivative thereof, and/or a blended fat composition, and methods of producing such food products. The microbial oil may serve as vegetable oil alternatives and be processed and/or derivatized by any number of means known in the art.

Abstract: The disclosure relates to microbial lipid compositions produced by oleaginous microorganisms as alternatives to plant-derived palm oil. The microbial lipid compositions may have one or more characteristics of plant-derived palm oil. These compositions may be fractionable or otherwise capable of separation into different states. Further provided are products produced by or comprising the microbial lipids.

Abstract: The disclosure relates to the production of lipids by microbes utilizing novel post-fermentation industrial feedstocks. The post-fermentation industrial feedstocks comprise one or more inhibitory compounds, which traditionally have made the post-fermentation media unsuitable for utilization as a feedstock for microbial lipid production. In aspects, the disclosure provides oleaginous yeast capable of utilizing these post-fermentation industrial waste streams as a novel feedstock, methods of producing lipids and microbial oils utilizing these microbes and feedstock, and novel compositions produced from the methods.
