Abstract: A system and method for predicting medical outcomes of patients having a variety of diseases, and communicating these predicted outcomes to the patients. The system and method incorporates a plurality of variables and available medical treatments and/or therapies that are available to a patient. All of the variables and treatments are analyzed to predict medical outcomes without treatment, and with each of the plurality of available treatments. The system includes a graphical user interface for inputting the variables and the treatment options. This graphical user interface can comprise a plurality of toggle switches for manipulating each variable as desired. The graphical user interface can display a risk of complication of a disease, both with and without treatment, to a patient, thereby improving communication to the patient and providing healthcare providers and professionals with a procedure and system by which medical outcomes may be predicted and readily communicated to patient.

Abstract: Described herein are compositions and methods that, in some embodiments, are specifically configured to treat different types of constipation. In particular, described herein are compositions and methods for treating IBS-C, opioid induced constipation, and chronic idiopathic constipation. In addition to treating the symptom of constipation, these embodiments of the compositions and methods described herein are configured to address specific etiologies and/or pathophysiologies associated with the constipation types of IBS-C, opioid induced constipation, and chronic idiopathic constipation.

The efficacy of the capsule endoscopy procedure is limited in at least in part by the power provided by the battery within the capsule. The methods and compounds described herein provide improved capsule endoscopies yielding valuable clinical data. In addition, the methods and compounds described herein provide for a more satisfying experience for the individual undergoing a bowel preparation related to a capsule endoscopy and thus increase compliance with the bowel preparation.
