    Abstract: A launch control system for a vehicle includes a control system configured to, in response to detecting a launch control request, determine whether an accelerator pedal position and a brake pressure are greater than respective calibrated thresholds, when the accelerator pedal position and the brake pressure are both greater than the respective calibrated thresholds, temporarily limit a torque output of a torque generating system to a limited calibrated value to mitigate or prevent potential damage to a driveline system, and while temporarily limiting the torque output of the torque generating system to the limited calibrated value, when at least one of the accelerator pedal position and the brake pressure falls below its respective calibrated threshold, increase the torque output of the torque generating system to a maximum calibrated value.

A controller is in signal communication with the driver interface, the torque generating system, and the transmission. The controller is configured to (i) display, via the driver interface, a torque reduction request for a gear shift of the transmission, (ii) receive, from the driver via the driver interface, a driver selected torque reduction request for the gear shift, and (iii) perform the driver selected torque reduction request at the torque generating system during the gear shift.

    Abstract: Grade based transmission park pawl unloading techniques include in response to detecting a request to shift a transmission of a vehicle out of a park state, determining a set of load parameters using a set of sensors configured to monitor the set of load parameters of the vehicle, the set of load parameters including at least a grade of a surface that the vehicle is on and a weight of the vehicle, based on the set of load parameters, activating a series of a plurality of clutches of the transmission to cause the transmission to transfer or output a desired amount of drive torque in a desired direction to unload the park pawl, and when the park pawl is unloaded, shifting the transmission out of the park state without any noise/vibration/harshness (NVH) associated with the previous loading of the park pawl.

    Abstract: A launch control system for a vehicle having a powertrain includes a transmission configured to selectively perform a transbrake operation to temporarily lock the transmission to hold the vehicle stationary while an engine throttle position is increased for a vehicle launch, an actuator configured to initiate a transbrake creep operation, and a controller in signal communication with the transmission and the actuator. The controller is configured to (i) command the transmission to perform the transbrake operation, (ii) receive a signal from the actuator indicating a request to initiate the transbrake creep operation, and (iii) command the transmission to momentarily disengage the transbrake for a predetermined period of time to enable the vehicle to perform the transbrake creep operation and move the vehicle forward while maintaining the increased engine throttle position.
