  • Patent number: 12115428
Abstract: An imaging device comprising a housing configured to be coupled to a basketball backboard, a lens disposed in the housing, a control unit disposed in the housing, the control unit comprising one or more processors, and a memory coupled to the one or more processors. The one or more processors are configured to perform operations stored in the memory including performing line detection from captured image data, providing, to a trained machine-learning model, adjusted image data based on one or more algorithms applied to the captured image data, wherein the one or more algorithms are based on whether or not lines are detected from the captured image data and generating, from output of the trained machine-learning model, data indicating characteristics of a basketball action associated with one or more users.

  • Publication number: 20240249697
Abstract: Techniques for a wireless television architecture are provided. In one technique, a wireless television architecture includes a base station and one or more display devices. The base station transmits television content wirelessly to each of the display devices. Each display device is wirelessly connected to the base station and receives television content from the base station and transmits data, to the base station, about the display device. Each display device has insertable batteries and does not have any power cords or cords for transmitting data to or receiving data from the base station. In another technique, a wireless display device comprises a screen that presents content, a wireless receiver that receives presentable content, multiple battery bays into which a plurality of batteries are inserted, and one or more attachment mechanisms that are capable of attaching the wireless display device to a vertical surface.

  • Publication number: 20240248667
Abstract: Techniques for using modular and wireless display devices are provided. In one technique, first content data from a content stream is presented on a screen of a first display device. It is detected that the first display device is connected to a second display device that is different than the first display device. Based on detecting that the first display device is connected to the second display device, second content data from the content stream is caused to be presented on a screen of the second display device.

  • Publication number: 20240245231
Abstract: Techniques for attaching a wireless display device to a vertical surface are provided. In one technique, a display device deploys a first adhesion mechanism to secure the display device to a vertical surface. It is detected that the first adhesion mechanism is about to fail. In response to detecting that the first adhesion mechanism is about to fail, the display device deploys a second adhesion mechanism to secure the display device to the vertical surface. In another technique, a display device deploys one or more adhesion mechanisms to secure the display device to a vertical surface. It is determined that the one or more adhesion mechanisms are about to fail. In response, the display device deploys one or more airbags around the display device to protect the display device in case the one or more adhesion mechanisms fail.

  • Publication number: 20240248142
Abstract: Techniques for optimizing battery usage in one or more wireless display devices are provided. In one technique, a current charge of each insertable battery in a wireless display device is identified. A current charge of each internal battery in the wireless display device is identified. Based on the current charges, it is determined whether power (or charge) from an insertable battery should be transferred to one of the internal batteries. In another technique, one or more first batteries in a display device are determined to be in a blocked state and one or more second batteries in the display device are determined to be unblocked state. Based on these determinations, the one or more second batteries are used before the one or more first batteries or power from the one or more second batteries is transferred electrical power to at least one of the one or more first batteries.
