Abstract: Example composite material devices, apparatus, articles of manufacture, and methods of manufacture are disclosed. An example composite material includes a first layer including a flexible veneer made of a natural fiber material; and a second layer including a flexible substrate, coupled to a first side of the first layer. The second layer is to support the first layer to be resistant to cutting and to be bendable up to 180 degrees to obtain a curvature without damaging the first layer or the second layer.

Abstract: New composite materials marrying natural veneers such as bamboo, wood, palm leaf etc to various substrates. Various embodiments include substrates such as repositionable adhesive, simple sealants or flexible thick rubber like materials. These composites are used for a variety of needs from kitchen cutting boards to temporary or semi-permanent surface coverings to new wooden fabric replacement for making soft goods such as bags, purses, containers, clothing etc.
