  • Patent number: 9601832
Abstract: According to various aspects, exemplary embodiments are provided of bow tie antennas and antenna assemblies that include the same. In an exemplary embodiment, a bow tie antenna includes a pair of antenna elements. Each antenna element includes spaced apart end portions defining an open portion such that the antenna element has an open shape. The open shape is closed by dielectric material disposed between the spaced apart end portions and extending across a gap separating the spaced apart end portions, whereby the dielectric material and pair of antenna elements cooperatively define a closed bow tie shape for the bow tie antenna.

  • Publication number: 20150312631
Abstract: Disclosed are exemplary embodiments of digital media boxes and related methods. In an exemplary embodiment, a digital media box includes a receiver that receives, via an antenna, signals including metadata and program content from over-the-air broadcast channels. A top portion of the box includes an antenna mount integral thereto for receiving the antenna. The box also includes a controller that combines metadata received by the media box from metadata sources, the combined metadata including but not limited to at least some of the metadata from the over-the-air broadcast channels. The controller provides a dynamic display, on a display device connectible with the digital media box, of at least some of the combined metadata to describe shows scheduled to be presented on the broadcast.

  • Patent number: 9059507
Abstract: An antenna assembly generally includes dielectric mounting members coupling at least one pair of bow tie antennas to an antenna support. A reflector is coupled to the antenna support. One or more pairs of electrical conductors extend between a balun and the at least one pair of bow tie antennas. The one or more pairs of electrical conductors electrically connect the balun with the at least one pair of bow tie antennas. The one or more pairs of electrical conductors include portions that are bent inwards generally towards the at least one reflector to create an impedance transformer and an improved impedance match at a feed point of the balun. The dielectric mounting members include one or more recessed portions or slots configured for providing a stop for angled electrical conductor portions of the electrical conductors and for providing a stop for straight electrical conductor portions of the electrical conductors.

  • Patent number: 8747181
Abstract: A toy vehicle track and vehicle therefor having an actuator mechanism operably coupled with the motor and configured to remove power from the motor once the actuator mechanism senses the toy vehicle has exceeded a first speed provided by battery-powered propulsion and reached a second speed provided by either the vehicle being moved manually by a user or by moving downhill. Once the actuator mechanism has activated, the vehicle moves into free-wheeling mode and remains in that mode until the actuator mechanism senses that the toy has moved from the second speed to a third speed slower than the battery-powered propulsion speed.
