Abstract: Embodiments are provided for automating selection of insurance policies for physical assets via a distributed ledger. A computing device, which in some instances can be coupled to or associated with a physical asset, can determine that a distributed ledger maintained by a plurality of distributed nodes includes a first transaction that corresponds to a request for insurance associated with the physical asset being transported from a first location to a second location. The computing device can also determine that the distributed ledger includes a set of second transactions that correspond to a set of insurance policies that each reference the first transaction, each transaction in the corresponding set of second transactions having insurance policy parameters that are determined based on the insurance request criteria.
