  • Publication number: 20070138123
Abstract: A closure is provided for a container opening. The closure includes a body for mounting to the container and a lid movable between a closed position and an open position. The lid and body are connected by a bistable, snap-action hinge structure having a web between two hinges. Stress-relief recesses are provided at an end edge of either the body hinge or the lid hinge or both.

  • Publication number: 20070114239
Abstract: A dispenser is provided for dispensing tablets. The dispenser generally includes a housing and a compartment. The compartment is pivotable with respect to the housing between a dispensing position and a non-dispensing position. The dispenser may also include a biasing member to bias the compartment to the non-dispensing position and a rib to resist accidental pivoting of the compartment.

  • Publication number: 20070102389
Abstract: A tamper-evident closure system is provided for a container. The system has a body for extending from the container at the container opening. The body defines a dispensing orifice and an attachment surface. The system includes a lid for being moved between a closed position and an open position. An anchor member is provided for being attached to the body attachment surface when the lid is first closed on the body. At least one frangible web initially connects the anchor member with the lid so that the frangible web breaks when the lid is initially lifted from the closed position.

  • Publication number: 20070102391
Abstract: A closure system is provided for a container. The system has a body for extending from the container at the container opening. The body defines a dispensing orifice. A lid is provided for covering the orifice. The body has a bearing member with two spaced-apart walls for defining a channel for receiving a pivot shaft on the lid. At least one deflectable finger projects from one of the body bearing member walls for being temporarily, elastically deflected to accommodate the insertion of the lid pivot shaft into the channel. The finger is resilient, and moves back over the lid pivot shaft to prevent removal of the lid pivot shaft from the channel.

  • Publication number: 20070102390
Abstract: A closure system is provided for a container. The system has a body for extending from the container at the container opening. The body defines a dispensing orifice. A lid is provided for covering the orifice. The body has a bearing member with two spaced-apart lower walls for defining a channel for receiving a pivot shaft on the lid. At least one deformable wall projects from one of the body bearing member lower walls for being inelastically deformed over at least a portion of the width of the channel and lid pivot shaft to prevent removal of the lid pivot shaft from the channel. Another form of the invention includes the closure system after the deformable wall has been deformed. Another form of the invention includes the method for making the closure system.

  • Publication number: 20070102392
Abstract: A closure system is provided for a container. The system has a body for extending from the container at the container opening. The body defines a dispensing orifice. A lid is provided for covering the orifice. The body has a bearing member with a laterally outer wall and a laterally inner wall which together define a channel for receiving a pivot shaft on the lid. At least one flap is hingedly attached to one of the body bearing member lateral walls and is initially positioned to expose the channel to permit mounting the lid pivot shaft in the channel. The flap can be subsequently folded over the channel and lid pivot shaft, and the distal end of the flap can be attached to the other lateral wall to form a bridge which prevents removal of the lid pivot shaft from the channel. Another form of the invention includes the fully completed closure system after the flap has been folded over and attached. Another form of the invention includes the method for making the closure system.

  • Publication number: 20060191948
Abstract: A dispensing closure system is provided with (1) a peripheral wall for extending from a container, and (2) a lid. A user can pivotably move the lid relative to the container between open and closed positions. For at least some range of lid movement, a resistance to lid movement is sensed by the user.

  • Publication number: 20060191933
Abstract: A closure system is provided with a peripheral wall (e.g., as defined either by a top portion of a container for extending from, and defining, an opening or as defined by a separate closure body for extending from a container). The peripheral wall has a laterally inwardly extending sealing member. A lid is provided for being moved from an open position to a closed position on the peripheral wall. The lid has a flange with a peripheral sealable surface for being engaged by the sealing member of the peripheral wall to effect a seal.
