Abstract: A method, apparatus and computer program product are provided to estimate a road segment traffic tendency determination value. A current traffic speed pattern data object may be generated for an initial location of a vehicle and a future traffic speed pattern data object may be generated for an estimated downstream location of the vehicle. A road segment traffic tendency determination value may then be estimated based at least in part on the current traffic speed pattern data object and the future traffic speed pattern data object. A road segment traffic tendency notification may be provided to the vehicle.

Abstract: A method, apparatus and computer program product are provided to determine one or more probe point data objects and/or validate one or more probe point data objects for use with determination of traffic conditions. A determined probe point data object may be determined and/or updated with one or more probe point data objects which exclude any probe point data objects determined to correspond to an off-road location. A validated probe point data object may additionally or alternatively be determined using one or more first validation sequence check operations and using one or more second validation sequence check operations. The determined probe point data object and/or validated probe point data object may be used to determine one or more traffic conditions, and as a result, traffic condition determinations may be determined more accurately and efficiently.

The method also includes determining whether the request is to be processed according to a variant logic process that defines a modified sequence of the criteria sets than the non-variant logic process. The method also includes dynamically altering the predefined sequence of the criteria sets to the modified sequence responsive to determining that the request is to be processed using the variant logic process, comparing the data identified by the request with the criteria sets according to the modified sequence, and processing the data according to the criteria sets of criteria in the modified sequence.
