  • Patent number: 11346747
Abstract: A system for testing an optical surface, the system comprising a non-coherent light source, a detector, a test plate positioned between the non-coherent light source and the optical surface, the test plate separated from the optical surface by a gap, and a processor. The processer is configured to cause the non-coherent light source to illuminate the test plate and optical surface with non-coherent light, control the detector to capture an interferogram produced by interference between light reflected from the test plate and light reflected from the optical surface, and perform quantitative analysis on the interferogram to characterize aberrations in the optical surface.

  • Patent number: 9279658
Abstract: An apparatus for testing an optical test piece comprising an interferometer for emitting an incident light beam. The apparatus includes a first reflective optic that receives the incident beam and produces a first reflected beam by focusing and expanding the received incident beam. The apparatus also includes a second reflective optic that receives and collimates the first reflected beam and outputs the collimated beam toward the optical test piece. Both the first and the second reflective optics are fixed to their respective positions relative to a thermally insensitive platform and the optical test piece is docked to the thermally insensitive platform and can be removed.

  • Patent number: 8941837
Abstract: An apparatus for testing an optical surface comprising an array of holograms. The array includes a plurality of individual holograms arranged in an M×N format, in which M is the number of rows and N is the number of columns in the array. The array of holograms is positioned between the optical surface and a wavefront sensor. The array of holograms reflects a reference beam back to the wavefront sensor, and transmits a test beam to the optical surface. The array of holograms also receives the test beam reflected from the optical surface and transfers the test beam back to the wavefront sensor.

  • Publication number: 20070008535
Abstract: A calorimeter for measuring a color of light includes a color sensing device, a suspension means and a counterweight. The suspension means suspends the color sensing device in an operative relationship relative to a color producing device, while the counterweight is secured to the suspension means and balances the color sensing device in the operative relationship relative to the color producing device.

  • Publication number: 20050078305
Abstract: A symmetric monitor calibrator for mounting on a cathode ray tube or monitor with a surface. The calibrator has a case that holds electronic and optic components. Suction cups hold the calibrator to the surface, in which the suction cups are attached to the end of supporting elements that surround the case. At least three supporting elements with a common connecting point to form one support structure are connected to the top of the case. The supporting elements extend out creating a greater diameter than the case. The supporting elements and therefore suction cups uniformly surround the center point of the case to prevent rotation caused by the effects of gravity.

  • Patent number: 6067166
Abstract: A mounting for a colorimeter enables it to make measurements of light emanating from a color monitor screen without affecting the colors produced by the screen or allowing the entry of ambient light which can affect measurements by the calorimeter. Pressure applied against a screen, especially of an LCD color monitor, can cause changes in the color of the light emanating from the screen. The mounting apparatus conforms to the screen, and seals the screen against ambient light entering into the calorimeter, while limiting the pressure against the screen. The apparatus is provided by a plate of compliant material, having an opening to which the calorimeter is attached. The surface of the plate, is disposed against the screen of the monitor. Since the pad is compliant, it seals the colorimeter from entry thereinto of ambient light. A strap can be expanded, and holds the pad on the monitor and against the screen. The strap is attached to the plate, and is placed around the back of the monitor.
