  • Publication number: 20140031512
Abstract: This invention relates to a polymer composition comprising monomeric units derived from caprolactam, wherein a) the caprolactam content is at most 0.3 wt % based on the total amount of polymer composition, and b) wherein [acid end groups]?[amine end groups]?meq/kg, whereby [acid end groups] is the concentration of acid end groups in the polymer composition in meq/kg and [amine end groups] is the concentration of amine end groups in the polymer composition in meq/kg; c) and wherein the RSV is at least 2.8. This invention also relates to a process for producing this polymer composition as well as articles made thereof.

  • Publication number: 20090306331
Abstract: Process for increasing the molecular weight of a polyamide comprising a first step, wherein the polyamide is contacted in countercurrent with a first stream comprising 15 to 100 wt. % H2O and 85 to 0 wt. % N2 at a temperature between 90 and 180° C. and for a time between 5 and 10 hours and a second step, wherein the polyamide obtained in the first step is contacted in countercurrent with a second stream comprising 90 to 100 wt % N2 and 10 to 0 wt % H2O at a temperature between 130 and 200° C. and for a time between 10 and 30 hours.

  • Publication number: 20090227761
    Abstract: The invention relates to an intrinsically gel-free, randomly branched polyamide that is built up at least of units derived from AB monomers; at least one compound I, this being a dicarboxylic acid (A2); at least one compound II, this being a triamine (B3); and optionally a compound III, this being a monocarboxylic acid (A1), characterized in that the polyamide is also built up of units derived from at least one compound IV, this being a diamine (B2); and in that the relative amounts n of the said compounds satisfy the following relationships: 0 ? n A ? ? 1 n B ? ? 3 ? 4 1 ? n A ? ? 2 n B ? ? 3 ? 4 200 ? n AB n B ? ? 3 ? 2000 2 5 ? n B ? ? 2 n B ? ? 3 0.996 ? f _ n ? ?
