  • Patent number: 11925296
Abstract: Grinding device, coffee machine and method for adjustment thereof. A grinding device (100) comprises a grinding housing (101) with mutually co-acting grinding bodies (110, 120). A lower of the two grinding bodies (110) is both driven and axially adjustable for the purpose of setting a grind size. An upper grinding body (120) is removable. A grind size of the grinding device can be adjusted in absolute manner between a first extreme position and a second extreme position, corresponding to a fixed setting range between a minimal clearance between the two grinding surfaces and a maximum clearance between the two grinding surfaces. An extreme position of the adjustable grinding body is imposed by a stop which is encountered by the adjusting means in the relevant extreme position. A coffee machine uses the absolute grind size and/or a fine-tuning for an optimal contact time between coffee and through-flowing water.

  • Patent number: 11553815
Abstract: The present invention relates to a dosing device for a product in powder form, comprising a holder (10) intended to hold a first quantity of the product therein. The holder is provided with dosing means to draw off the product from the holder and move it to an outlet. The dosing means comprise a worm body (20) with a worm thread (21). In a first aspect the worm body comprises at an outer end facing toward the outflow opening at least one further worm thread (22) which runs between the first worm thread (21). In a second aspect the worm thread (21) encloses a smaller volume between successive turns at a base than between successive turns in a part thereof located further toward the outer end.

  • Publication number: 20220218014
Abstract: Device for producing a liquid froth from a liquid, particularly a milk-containing or at least milky liquid, comprising a frothing unit (300) with a frothing chamber (350) which is provided with a liquid inlet (310) and a froth outlet (320) which are spatially separated from each other. A rotor body (330) arranged for rotation about a rotation axis X is provided in the frothing chamber. The rotor body (330) leaves a gap (360) to a chamber wall (351, 352) of the frothing chamber clear all around. The liquid inlet (310) and the froth outlet (320) are connected via the gap. In the axial direction from the liquid inlet (310) to the froth outlet (320) the rotor body has externally a decreasing active section which particularly gradually narrows. The chamber wall (351, 352) and the rotor body (330) comprise at least substantially parallel active surfaces directed toward each other, at least one surface of which is accidented at least at the position of the gap (360).

  • Patent number: 11297973
Abstract: A decoction device for an extraction apparatus, in particular for preparing espresso, comprises a decoction chamber (7) enclosed by a chamber wall (5) for receiving a quantity of powder therein. The decoction chamber is situated between a first chamber bottom (20) and a second chamber bottom (30). The first chamber bottom (20) is coupled to a linear actuator and is axially movable in the decoction chamber so as to compress the powder to a bed. A drive is provided to impose a relative rotation between one of the chamber bottoms and the chamber wall as the chamber bottoms (20,30) approach each other. The respective chamber bottom (30) is for this purpose rotatable within the chamber wall (5) and the drive is able and configured to impose a rotation thereon during an approach movement of the first chamber bottom (20). A slip coupling (60) is provided in the transmission.

  • Patent number: 5515772
Abstract: The invention relates to an apparatus for brewing a drink, such as coffee. The apparatus comprises a chamber for accommodating a mixture of water and a ground product to be extracted, the chamber having a perforated base on which a strip of filter material can be laid. There is structure on one side of the base for moving the strip of filter material over the base after a quantity of drink has been brewed and has been removed via the piece of filter material. The structure for moving the strip of filter material comprise a separate transport unit, and fixing structure is provided for fixing the transport unit to one of two opposing sides of the base, as desired. The structure for moving the strip of filter material can also comprise a separate guide unit, which is fixed in each case to that side of the base which is opposite to the side where the transport unit is located.
