Abstract: A fixing wire, in particular for applying treatment forces to a tooth, is intended to be protected in an extremely simple manner against translatory and rotational displacements and against being dislodged, with the mounting and dismantling time kept short. For this purpose, the fixing wire has a widened region produced by plastic deformation, for the longitudinal fixing thereof in a corresponding fixing recess of an orthodontic anchoring screw.
