In a method conducted at a transaction server access to stored location data having been periodically received relating to a mobile device and stored with an identifier of the mobile device is provided. Historical location data having been stored locally at a mobile device is received from the mobile device when requesting a secure transaction. The historical location data received from the mobile device is matched to a subset of the stored location data to obtain or verify an identifier of the mobile device requesting the secure transaction. The mobile device requesting the secure transaction is associated with the identifier so as to identify or verify the identity of the mobile device requesting the secure transaction.

Abstract: A method and system for provisioning payment credentials to a consumer are disclosed. A remotely accessible server receives a request for payment credentials required to conduct a transaction, the request originating from an electronic device of a consumer. A transaction type associated with the transaction is determined, the transaction type being one of a plurality of predefined transaction types wherein each transaction type is associated with a predefined payment credential format. The remotely accessible server obtains payment credentials in the payment credential format associated with the determined transaction type and transmits the obtained payment credentials to the electronic device of the consumer for use in conducting the transaction.

Abstract: A method of authorizing a payment transaction is provided. The method is carried out at a server that receives a payment request for an order of goods that is placed by a consumer with a merchant. The payment request is associated with payment credentials of the consumer and with delivery information for the delivery of the ordered goods. The server furthermore receives current location information of the ordered goods and determines whether the received current location information matches the received delivery information. If the received current location information matches the received delivery information within acceptable parameters, the payment request is authorized.

The method conducted at a remote server includes the steps of: receiving, from a communication device via a first communication channel, a fingerprint identifying the communication device and a value of a parameter of the communication device specific to the communication device and variable over time; determining whether the value is within a predicted range; and if the value is not within the predicted range or the predicted range has not been established, sending an additional authentication request via a second communication channel. The predicted range is learnt over a given number of interactions between the communication device and the remote server and an expected rate of change of the value.

In a method, a remotely accessible server obtains an account identifier and stores the account identifier in a database in response to a consumer electing to generate an account identifier. The server receives a request originating from an acquiring entity to process a payment against the account identifier and a merchant identifier of a merchant in favor of which the payment is to be processed. The server looks up the account identifier and stores the merchant identifier in the database in association with the account identifier, linking the account identifier to the merchant. Upon subsequent payment requests against the account identifier in favor of a merchant, the server receives a merchant identifier and, if the merchant identifier matches the merchant identifier associated with the account identifier, the server allows the payment.

Abstract: The invention provides systems and methods for providing payment credentials usable in a transaction. A method conducted at a token processor, the token processor receives a request for single-use payment credentials from a communication device of a consumer. In response, the token processor obtains or generates single-use payment credentials and obtains or generates a loyalty identifier which is uniquely associated with the consumer. The token processor then transmits the single-use payment credentials and the loyalty identifier to the communication device as a combined single-use payment token capable of being presented using the communication device. In some embodiments, the loyalty identifier is the same for all requests by the consumer for single-use payment credentials, such that the loyalty identifier is usable by a merchant in updating a record of the consumer.

According to one or more aspects, a payment server may receive a data message from a payor's telephone, and the data message may include a user-specified password. In response to validating the payor based on the user-specified password, a call may be initiated to the payor's telephone. Subsequently, a unique audio stream may be played over the call. The unique audio stream may be adapted to be captured by a merchant point-of-sale terminal for use in completing a transaction. In some arrangements, the unique audio stream may include encoded information identifying the payor and/or identifying an amount of funds to be paid.

Abstract: The invention provides a system for conducting commercial transactions in an economic environment including one or more banking institutions, a plurality of merchants (as defined), and a plurality of participating system members (as defined) associated with at least one cellular telephone network. The system employs an independent general computerized server accessible to participating system members and merchants by way of a wireless network, and capable of on-line communication with banking institutions and vendors. The server includes at least a financial data base record for each participating system member, merchant and participating vendor and enables a participating system member, by suitable activation of that member's mobile device, typically a cellular telephone, in a remote location, to conduct a financial transaction by debiting a financial data base record allocated to the instructing participating system member.
