  • Patent number: 4694960
Abstract: A tear open blister package of the type having a blister receptacle formed of plastic which has a periperhal flange secured to a flat backing. A tab extends from the receptacle at the flange for grasping during opening of the package, with the tab being unsecured to the backing. A tear initiation cut is provided in the plastic material of the receptacle at the intersection of the tab with the flange for initiating tearing of the plastic material.

  • Patent number: 4680947
Abstract: An improved interchangeable knitting needle system comprising knitting needles, preferably made of molded plastic, and being formed with cable connecting members that prevent breakage of the needles during use with detachably engaged hollow flexible cables that collect the knitted loops, and the like therealong. A pair of needles may be connected to opposite ends of a flexible cable for the storage of looped yarn therebetween. The system further includes a double-ended connector member capable of interconnecting a plurality of flexible cables between a pair of knitting needles. Said double-ended connector member having opposite connecting ends which are also detachably engageable at the ends of the joined flexible cables. The system further provides a stop button capable of detachably connecting to one end of a cable whereby one knitting needle may be independent of the cable, and another knitting needle may be secured to the other end of the cable to enable the storage of looped yarn along the cable.

  • Patent number: 4676162
Abstract: A rubber stamp with a skirted housing in which a plunger is slideable and spring biased to an upward position. At its bottom end the plunger includes a slotted base to which a print block is removably attached, and at the top end thereof the plunger includes a snap locking cap which permits easy assembly and disassembly of the unit. A frame contains the print block and includes a pair of ribbed flexible arms removably engageable within the slots of the base. Finger tabs connected to the flexible arms are accessible through cutouts in the housing skirt and effective for squeezing and removing the framed print block. A transparent cover is attachable to the housing skirt and covers the inked print block, and abuts the finger tabs so that the print block cannot be moved and inadvertently ink the inside surface of the transparent cover.

  • Patent number: 4632669
Abstract: A medical pressure indicating injection gun for injecting fluid into a balloon catheter, with a visual indication of the balloon pressure. The injection gun includes a barrel adapted for attachment thereto the body of a syringe, and a bracketed coupling shaft for holding the syringe plunger. The coupling shaft includes pressure gauge marks thereon, and is slideable within a cylinder chamber on the end of a ratchet shaft, and in compression with a spring also in the chamber. A ratchet mechanism is employed for engaging teeth on the ratchet shaft and advancing the ratchet shaft forward, and through the spring the coupling shaft and attached syringe plunger are advanced as well. Pressure build-up in the balloon catheter causes the coupling shaft to retract into the cylinder chamber in compression with the spring and indicate by the gauge marks the balloon pressure.

  • Patent number: 4494387
Abstract: An interchangeable knitting needle system having knitting needles with engageable, and releasably securing, locking means capable of resilient securement with tube adaptor means. The tube adaptor means capable of engaging ends of yarn storage tubes and being cooperative with said engageable needle locking means for interconnecting the yarn storage tubes between a pair of needles. Further, connector members are provided for linking a plurality of tubes between a pair of knitting needles. The connector members having opposite engaging end means, each being substantially the same as said engageable locking means of said needles, whereby said releasable locking means permit quick engagement and disengagement to enable interchanging or rearranging the components of the system.

  • Patent number: 4306870
Abstract: A contact-actuated light pencil for use in detecting electrically conducting areas or materials. The light pencil includes a hollow pencil body having an aperture at one end, a tubular electrical contact at the one end which lines the aperture, and a conducting probe extending from within the pencil body through the tubular electrical contact. The probe is electrically isolated from direct contact with the tubular electrical contact by an insulator, situated within the electrical contact, which has an internal aperture for through-passage of the probe. The probe is slidably situated within the internal aperture and is resiliently biased by a spring such that a portion of the probe normally extends outside of the pencil body. A conducting path leads between the electrical contact and the probe and includes a battery and lamp which is illuminated when electrical current flows.
