  • Patent number: 8091689
Abstract: The invention relates to an automatic parking brake acting on a disk brake and in which the piston of the brake comprises a cavity in which there is a spring (1) allowing pressure to be applied to the end (12) of the piston cavity. A washer (5) is positioned between the inlet (13) of the cavity and the spring (1). A pressing device (4) allows pressure to be applied to the washer (5) so that it preloads the spring (1).

  • Patent number: 8061491
Abstract: The invention is a electromechanical locking device for a brake piston of a hydraulically actuated wheel brake. The locking device is disposed at least in some portions in the interior of a hollow-cylindrical brake piston. This interior of the brake piston is filled with hydraulic pressure fluid and in the event of brake actuation is subjected to pressure. The invention includes a filler piece and a coupling element, which reduce the pressure-fluid-filled volume of the brake piston, prevent blocking of the locking device in its terminal positions, and make it possible for the two terminal positions of the locking device to be detected and evaluated by an electronic control unit.

  • Patent number: 7945368
Abstract: A method of actuating an automatic parking brake for a vehicle, comprising a spring device, designed to absorb the actuating forces, situated in the actuating mechanism of a brake device. This method comprises at least the following steps: application of a preload to the spring device to a value situated in part IV of the operating characteristic, and adjustment of this preload to a level corresponding at least to a minimum braking force required for the vehicle.

  • Publication number: 20080234910
Abstract: The invention relates to a method for controlling a vehicle braking system comprising an electric control motor, a system for transmitting the control forces provided by the motor, at least one braking device for the wheels of a vehicle controlled by the control forces transmitted by the transmission device. The method comprises at the end of a braking system release cycle, three additional phases after braking is stopped: phase H: re-operating of the motor in said forward direction of rotation corresponding to the actuation of braking, phase I, detecting a value characteristic of the electric current powering the motor, phase J, operating the motor in the opposite direction of rotation to said forward direction then stopping the motor.
