  • Publication number: 20040068265
Abstract: The instrument comprises a handle carrying a scraper blade (50) positioned at its front end, and possesses in its front end portion a collection chamber (R) for the removed material; the instrument is characterised in that the handle comprises: an elongate inner element (20), having at least a front portion (21) with a cylindrical surface; a tubular outer casing (30) which encloses the inner element (20) about its entire perimeter and adheres to the outer surface of its front portion (21); a longitudinal rod (40) having a cross-section less than the cross-section of the collection chamber (R) to extend longitudinally along and within the chamber, its rear end being fixed to the inner element (20); the scraper is blade (50) being fixed to the front end of the rod (40). An object of the instrument is to make its cross-section as small as possible in order to render the withdrawal technique only minimally invasive.

  • Publication number: 20020062107
Abstract: The device is applied to a syringe for medical use, comprising a cylindrical body, on the front end portion (12) of which there is rigidly applied a hollow needle (15) having a pointed tip (17) for penetration into the patient's body. A protection member (20) is provided, to assume alternately an open configuration and a closed configuration, to enclose, when in its closed configuration, at least the pointed tip (17) of the needle; a securing means (50) is also provided separate from the syringe (10) and able to be rigidly secured to the front end portion (12) of the syringe. Said securing means (50) is joined to the protection member (20) by connection means (55) which enable the protection member (20) to be rotated such that this can be disposed relatively far from the pointed tip (17) of the needle.

  • Publication number: 20010053892
Abstract: A protection device for medical needles connected to a portion of tube comprises: a protection casing (20) arranged to enclose and cover the needle after use, it being initially applied in a position to the rear of the point (11) of the needle; a front end (25) facing the point of the needle, to be rested against a foreign body (D3) for reaction in extracting the needle from the patient's body; means (30) for securing the device to the tube (15); and thrust means (21, 22) which when operated by the operator's finger (D1, D2) increase the distance between the securing means (30) and said front end (25) in order to cause the needle (10) to move towards the protection casing (20) until it lies inside the interior of this latter (20). During the extraction of the needle (10) from the patient's body (P), the device (1) is rigidly secured to the tube (15) in proximity to the needle (10), and the operator, by operating on the device, is able to direct the needle (10) as he wishes, to achieve its correct extraction.
