Abstract: This invention is directed toward a stand-up paddleboard comprised of two or more sections, which mate together to form a Stand-up paddleboard of varying lengths, where each length is dependent upon the number and function of one or more middle sections. The take-apart function allows for a rigid, high performance Stand-up paddleboard to be easily displayed for sale in a retail store or transported to exotic and remote locations, and because the middle section (or sections) can be selectively added or removed, this single invention can allow a user to create a high-performance short board, a medium-size longboard, a big wave “gun”, a touring board, and overnight camping board, or a fishing board out of the same pieces.

Abstract: A kayak comprising a hull and a deck with one or more louvers provided in said hull at least in a stern section thereof to force water to separate from said hull whereby forming voids which are replaced with air from the water surface or water from the sides as said kayak is displaced thereon. This reduces drag and the kayak benefits from a speed improvement.

Abstract: A height adjustment mechanism is provided for a seat of a kayak whereby to position the seat at a desired elevation above a waterline of the kayak, as determined when on a body of water. The kayak is comprised of a hull section and a deck section provided with an opening to accommodate a user person. The seat is positioned in the opening and secured on an inner wall of the hull section. The adjustment means may be constituted by various mechanisms or elements.

Abstract: A kayak is disclosed and having a hull section and a deck section. The hull section has a bottom surface circumscribed a contour edge. At least an endless groove is formed in the bottom surface and spaced inwardly of the contour edge, whereby the endless groove traps water and provides a thrust bearing-like action enhancing translational stability during planing conditions and performance in a flat spin of the kayak.

Abstract: An ergonomically improved kayak paddle and a method for making the same is provided which improves the overall strength of the paddle while substantially reducing hand and arm fatigue for a user. The kayak paddle utilizes non-concentric gripping regions between a substantially longitudinal shaft and paddle blade sections. The gripping regions are interconnected to the shaft at non-abrupt predetermined angles of curvature and in a geometric configuration which reduces structural stress and fatigue at critical portions of the paddle while allowing a paddler to orient the paddle by touch alone.
