  • Publication number: 20190093925
Abstract: A solar panel (302) for heating a target fluid using incident solar radiation is described, the solar panel (302) includes: three major edges (306) arranged so that the solar panel (302) can be inscribed in a triangle with each major edge (308) of the panel (302) lying along at least a portion of a side of the triangle; a cavity for retaining the target fluid; and an inlet and an outlet for the target fluid, for exchanging the target fluid with adjacent solar panels (302).

  • Publication number: 20160155433
Abstract: A matching layer is described for facilitating the transmission of ultrasound energy between an ultrasound source and a target, the matching layer having an acoustic impedance that decreases across the matching layer. The matching layer comprises at least 10 adjacent composites, each composite comprising a carrier material and each composite having an acoustic impedance lower than that of the adjacent composite. Methods of manufacturing the matching layer, and ultrasound apparatus used in conjunction with the matching layer are also described.

  • Patent number: 6840836
Abstract: A flexible flying disk is described in which a body having a circular perimeter is formed about a central axis. The body includes a weighted annular margin at the perimeter, with an axial margin dimension. A central web spans the perimeter at one axial end of the margin and includes an axial web thickness less than the axial margin dimension. The web and annular margin are integral and are formed of a thermosetting molded and heat cured catalyzed silicone.
