Publication number: 20240135619Abstract: An avatar communication system can enable display on a local user device of an avatar image corresponding to a remote user. The avatar image can be generated using an avatar model and expression data. The expression data can be extracted from image data of the remote user acquired by a remote device. The local user device can be configured to display or provide communication data received from the remote device, together with the avatar image. The image data used to generate the avatar image can be obtained contemporaneously with the communication data or may be associated with the communication data. The expression data and the communication data can be obtained through the same channel, or through separate channels. The local user device can generate expression data of the local user and provide the expression data to the remote device, together with communication data of the local user.Type: ApplicationFiled: July 6, 2023Publication date: April 25, 2024Inventors: Evgeny PESHKOV, Cory GRENIER

Patent number: 11483492Abstract: Techniques for video manipulation based on an immersive video experience including rotation are disclosed. Parameters pertaining to a video are determined. Second parameters pertaining to a video display are determined. A minimum scale value is calculated to inscribe a rectangle within an oval based on a height and a width of the video. A height and a width of the video display define the rectangle. A gravity sensor input is preprocessed using a low-pass filter before using it to determine the minimum scale value. The video is preprocessed using a video inset and a viewport inset. The video can be trimmed, and the rectangle can be scaled. A rectangular portion of the video is rendered on the video display wherein the rectangular portion is on or inside the boundaries of the oval.Type: GrantFiled: May 4, 2020Date of Patent: October 25, 2022Assignee: Loop Now Technologies, Inc.Inventors: Wuhsi Li, Vincent Yang, Jerry Luk, Cory Grenier, June Kim, Ethan Fan, Lucas Alves, Ben Hansen, Chen Li, Shawn Samra

Patent number: 10645331Abstract: The video playback technology disclosed herein gives fullscreen immersive experience to users when they watch videos on mobile devices used to watch the video. Specifically, an implementation of the technology disclosed herein gives a continuous all-time immersive experience by treating the screen of the mobile device as a window to watch a wide-angle video, and by keeping the video's relative angle to gravity unchanged while users rotate or tilt their mobile devices. In one implementation, the video also zooms in/out of the display during rotation of the smartphones, to give users a sense of getting closer/farther to the video. One or more implementations disclosed herein use inputs from gravity sensors including magnetic sensors, gyroscope, accelerometer, etc., to determine the amount of zooming in/out and shifting for the video in response to various movements, such as rotate, move, and tilt, of the video display device by the users.Type: GrantFiled: May 28, 2019Date of Patent: May 5, 2020Assignee: Loop Now Technologies, Inc.Inventors: Wuhsi Li, Vicent Yang, Jerry Luk, Cory Grenier, June Kim, Ethan Fan, Lucas Alves, Ben Hansen, Chen Li, Shawn Samra

Publication number: 20190197900Abstract: A system for protecting the safety of occupants exiting and entering a vehicle has sensors on the interior, exterior and remotely of the vehicle and one or more imaging devices that project an image onto the pavement supporting the vehicle as well as optional data input devices all communicating with a system controller. The system anticipates that the occupant will be leaving the vehicle and the time it will take for the occupant to fully exit the vehicle. The system further controls the imaging devices to warn the drivers of oncoming traffic of the occupant's egress and warn or block the egress of the occupant should a particularly dangerous condition exist.Type: ApplicationFiled: March 4, 2019Publication date: June 27, 2019Inventors: Russell Haines, Cory Grenier

Patent number: 9303890Abstract: Intelligent HVAC register is an HVAC register outlet which can control the temperature in a space by operating independently. The Intelligent HVAC register works in network with other vents within the system using low power wireless technology and a smart application so that the temperature of multiple individual spaces can be controlled while operating on a single HVAC system. Intelligent HVAC register uses a solar strip to charge the battery which runs each vent's hardware. This enables more efficient use of energy as airflow to unused spaces can be blocked therefore keeping air pressure and efficiency higher in the spaces where temperature adjustments are necessary. Intelligent HVAC register can be controlled using a learning application on a smart device. By setting the time & temperature needed in each space the Intelligent HVAC smart vane will automatically open or close to keep the room at the desired temperature.Type: GrantFiled: March 27, 2013Date of Patent: April 5, 2016Inventors: Russell Haines, Cory Grenier
