  • Publication number: 20240107082
Abstract: Disclosed are systems, methods, and devices transmitting live content. There is provided a first delivery path for streaming live content data, without packet reordering, to a player device, and a second delivery path for streaming recorded content data to the player, wherein the system is configured to transition from the first delivery path to the second delivery path in response to a seek and/or rewind request from the player device.

  • Patent number: 11936469
Abstract: Methods, systems, and apparatuses are disclosed for server selected bitrate streaming. A server receives a request from a user device for data segments at a first bitrate. The server determines a second bitrate for transmission of the data segments to the user device. The server transmits the requested data segments at the determined second bitrate.

  • Publication number: 20230247105
Abstract: The disclosure relates generally to providing content from a source to a user device. In one implementation, a source such as a server receives a request for a master manifest file. The server may identify one or more other manifest files and at least one data block associated with the content. The other manifest files can include manifest files referenced by the master manifest file, or can include manifest files associated with related content. The requested master manifest, the one or more other manifest files, and the at least one data block can be pushed to the user device.

  • Publication number: 20190259424
Abstract: Systems and methods are described for retrieval and output of content in a way that addresses concerns with storing multiple copies or versions of a piece of content. The piece of content may have associated computer instructions that allow the client to access alternate portions of the piece of content during consumption. This allows the content provider to store a single copy of the complete piece of content while enabling consumers to access alternate audio or video portions of the content. A new playback architecture may execute instructions associated with a piece of content. Instructions associated with a piece of content may directly affect consumption by the consumer client and may be dependent upon user preferences or interests.

  • Publication number: 20190090005
Abstract: A content distributor in a content distribution system may be configured to encode each frame of a content asset individually and separately from a plurality of other frames of the content asset. Each frame of the content asset may be encoded to a plurality of pixel resolutions and may be transmitted using an Internet Protocol (IP) network such that the frame is available for playback by at least one user device. Each frame of the content asset may be placed in one or more buffers where it may be requested by a user device for playback through a content delivery network. The content distributor may be configured to generate a manifest that contains a list of specific network locations (e.g., URL's) for each pixel resolution of the frame.
