    Abstract: A system and method of producing syngas is provided. The system includes a low tar gasification generator that receives at least a first and second feedstock stream, such as a solid waste stream. The first and second feedstock streams are mixed and gasified to produce a first gas stream. An operating parameter is measured and a ratio of the first and second feedstock streams is changed in response to the measurement.

The second gas stream is received by a power module that generates electrical power from the second gas stream. The process module may include one or more heat exchangers.

    Abstract: A system and method of producing electrical power from a solid waste stream is provided. The system includes a low tar gasification generator that receives a feedstock stream, such as a solid waste stream. The feedstock stream is gasified to produce a first gas stream that includes hydrogen, at least one contaminant and at least one diluent. At least one clean-up process is performed on the first gas stream to remove the at least one contaminant and generate a second gas stream. Electrical power is generated by a solid oxide fuel cell in response to receiving the second gas stream. The solid oxide fuel cell outputting an anode exhaust gas stream. A portion of the anode exhaust gas is vented to reduce the level of diluent in the second gas stream.

    Abstract: A fuel distributor assembly for a fuel cell stack that includes an inner shell positioned within an outer shell. The outer shell is curved to define a central longitudinal chamber, a first longitudinal edge and a second longitudinal edge. The outer shell also has an inner wall surface and an outer wall surface. The first longitudinal edge and the second longitudinal edge in combination define a longitudinal slot. The first longitudinal edge is bent inwardly towards the longitudinal chamber to form a longitudinal lip. The inner shell includes a plurality of ribs extending outwardly and contacting the inner wall surface of the outer shell. The inner shell, the outer shell, the lip, and the ribs define a plurality of flow channels. The inner shell has a length along which a plurality of apertures are positioned in a partial helical pattern. A method of forming the fuel distributor is also provided.

The integrated fuel cell assembly includes a polymer membrane; an anode electrode and a cathode electrode on opposite sides of the polymer membrane; a pair of gas diffusion media on opposite sides of the polymer membrane, the gas diffusion media comprising a microporous layer and a gas diffusion layer, the anode electrode and the cathode electrode positioned between the polymer membrane and the pair of gas diffusion media; a subgasket positioned around a perimeter of one of the gas diffusion media, the subgasket defining an active area inside the perimeter, the subgasket having a layer of thermally activated adhesive thereon; and a bipolar plate sealed to the subgasket by the layer of thermally activated adhesive. Methods of making the integrated fuel cell assembly and assembling fuel cell stacks are also described.
